...What happened next, was stranger still, a woman breathless and afraid, appeared out of the night, completely dressed in white. She had a secret she would tell, of one who had mistreated her. Her face and frightened gaze, my mind cannot erase...But then she ran from view. She looked so much like you...
I can't comment on this director's work as I don't really know it. But "Side Show" is GREAT show. Henry Krieger's score is amazing (even better than "Dreamgirls") and Bill Russell's libretto is a stunning piece of writing. And, as far as I'm concerned, any production of it would be worth me making the trip across the Atlantic to see it.

I was there tonight. Honestly, I went in with extremely low expectations (knowing that it was a low-budget off-broadway production) and i LOVED it. It was very minimalist set-wise, but they did not skimp on the costumes or the talent. Daisy and Violet were wonderful and got long extended well-deserved applause after "Who Will Love Me As I Am" and "I Will Never Leave You." Jake's "You Should Be Loved" was fabulous. Also enjoyed Terry and Buddy's performances. "Tunnel of Love" (my personal favorite) gave me chills as did the opening and closing numbers. The weakest link, IMO, was the actor who played The Boss, but he did the best he could.
I am a HUGE FAN of this show was was not disappointed at all. The music always gets to me. Very stong cast overall. Wish I could see it again.
Great recommendation, withoutatrace, I'm headed over there tomorrow night.
I love Side Show. In many ways, I find it superior to "Dreamgirls." While both are by the same team, I think "Who Will Love Me As I Am" is, as a character number, even better than "And I'm Telling You..."
Great to hear! I'm very excited. My good friend is playing one of the twins, Violet I believe. Don't know the show too well, so I'm excited to finally see and hear it.
She's absolutely wonderful. We've also inserted a song that was cut from the original production, which is a big "I Am Changing" sort of number for Violet alone called "She's Gone", which she sings the HELL out of.
Suzanne: I never use catalogs. I'd rather go in the store and see all the salespeople groveling and sucking up to you.
Julia: Pardon me, I never knew they were so solicitous at the K-Mart.
I cannot wait now! I will be at tomorrow's matinee. I am really excited, because side show is one of my favorites!

Every time she belts the repeated high E's when she sings "...she knows whyyyyyy", I get chills that won't stop. She's really fantastic.

And I thought we had something special...didn't my lavish praise during BWW Idol mean anything to you? *wailing* :-P
Glad you enjoyed it...tonight will be even better!

Aw Jaily I'm sorry... I couldn't even stay to say hi to my friend, I had to be downtown in a rather short amount of time so I bolted out of there. I saw you though.
He is extremely cute...he's also very, very sweet.

There are some really attractive guys in the cast...I, personally, am absolutely head over heels for Kevin, the guy who plays Jake.
*le swooning*
And did he not just TEAR UP "The Devil You Know"?? That's fast becoming my favorite number in the whole show...(and I LOVE the sax part...it's the only time we really get to let loose and have a ball up there).

No, "She's Gone" is the only addition to the score.
