What shows do you think will never be revived? I know it's kind of weird saying a show will NEVER be revived but...u know.
Seussical Merlin The Magic Show

I think somewhere down the road Seussical may have a chance...I hope anyway. After it flopped on broadway, it was revamped A LOT. It changed the context of JoJo and some songs were changed, with one being completely dropped. The tour I thought was quite successful, and high school after high school is doing it or will do it. These things are building a larger and larger fan base, they just have to wait for the memory of the original broadway production to fade (even though I am still a fan of it).
Anyway, shows that probably won't be revived: Bring Back Birdie Taboo Fame Becomes Me
I hate the new Seussical. It's stupid. I LOVE the broadway version though!

I don't need a life that's normal. That's way too far away. But something next to normal would be okay. Something next to normal is what I'd like to try. Close enough to normal to get by.
As sad as it makes me to say it, once RENT closes (shudder) I don't think it will ever be revived. On Broadway at least.
I can't see Hair getting a broadway revival anytime either. Both of these shows relate to a certain time period and generation, that people who weren't a part of that generation just can't really relate to.
Don't get me wrong, I ADORE both of these shows, but even though they both have great messages, I just dont see them working in the future.
Two Tony winners for Best Musical will probably never be revived anywhere, ever -- Fosse and Jerome Robbins' Broadway. As for the others, I don't think Contact, Hallelujah Baby, or Redhead would ever be revived on Broadway, although they might be re-mounted elsewhere.
Of the currently running Tony winners, I think that Avenue Q is the one that is least likely to be revived in years to come -- the book is very of-the-moment and would have to be dramatically re-written to not be too dated twenty years from now.
"What was the name of that cheese that I like?"
"you can't run away forever...but there's nothing wrong with getting a good head start"
"well I hope and I pray, that maybe someday, you'll walk in the room with my heart"
Dose anyone think that The Producers will be revived after it closes?

Hair? HAIR? Hair will never be revived? What the hell are you talking about! While I am no fan of the show, it's been spectacularly popular for over 30 years and gets produced all the time. There have been two very successful Chicago productions in the last 10 years. There was a restaging in London in 1993 and it was the Actor's Fund show last year. It will absolutely be revived- probably repeatedly. It being "Dated" will never be a hindrance. It can be staged as a "Period" piece or as a commentary on any future (or current) war.
And Rent? Of course it will get revived. Repeatedly.
And as long as I'm ranting, Producers will be revived within 10 years of it closing.
I can see the Producers being revived but not Avenue Q or Rent - the messages are current and people 30 years from now may not be able to relate to them.
I pray everyday that Side Show will be revived, but I just don't know...
...What happened next, was stranger still, a woman breathless and afraid, appeared out of the night, completely dressed in white. She had a secret she would tell, of one who had mistreated her. Her face and frightened gaze, my mind cannot erase...But then she ran from view. She looked so much like you...

Yeah, kinda like Shakespeare-- his stuff is all dated!
