Anyone have insight as to when the DVD will be out?

i can't wait for it...but until it comes out i will be going to see the movie...over and over.

Yeah I'm compelled to also, but I believe that the longer a film is in theatres, the longer it takes for the DVD. So if we want it to come out sooner, we may have to hold our cravings for now!(And our pocketbooks...after all, the more times you go, the more $$ the prod company makes and we just wait longer for the DVD to watch repeatedly at home. :) )

Someone on another board said Feburary 10th, but I have heard in April too, to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the stage show. I just know, I will be there the first day it comes out!! I think this movie will do wondeful on dvd, because those who love Rent, love it with a passion.
I wonder how much effort Sony is going to put into it since it has not done well in theaters. A single disc? A double disc? The movie w/o features or with hours and hours of extras?
Columbus said on a video blog that "Goodbye Love" and other things they cut from the movie will be on the DVD. They've filmed so much in the way of blogging and 'making of' stuff that I imagine there will be plenty of amusing other stuff on it.

I hope the do what they did on the "Goonies" DVD. the had the whole cast on the commentary and every once in a while, the movie would go to a small box in the corner and you saw the cast as they talked about the film. It's really cool.

Footlooser - that would be the perfect thing. I don't think I would be able to follow 8 people talking if I couldn't see them. A lot of stuff would just get lost and mumbled.
they really say that? that is hilarious i love little broadwayisms, like on the simpsons, they were frozen in ice, when the tony awards came on, and they couldnt switch the channel, haha sorry, random and off topic...
