Well, I haven't seen the cast at any of their promotional things this year, and this is the first time since March I will be up there, so even though it's going to be a lot of trouble, I think I will go check it out. Just to say I did. Still waiting on a good time, though. Anyone know?

I want to thank you guys for clarifying the premiere date. It did get me curious in regards to my teenager telling me she had tickets to the premiere on Sunday night. I came back here just to follow up that I had one of those very brief calls that college students make as they are rushing to the next thing and I asked her about this and she said that while she originally was told by her boyfriend who is taking her to this that it was the "premiere", that was not the right term. Rather, they have tickets or some sort of invitation to a private screening hosted by Robert DeNiro at which some of the cast members will be attending Sunday night in Tribeca. So, I had the night right but not the right name of the event!

I'll just add one more thing since you guys are obviously RENT fans (I love the show too)....my daughter who just turned 17 is going to college in NY for musical theater and has been someone who has admired Anthony Rapp since elementary school and has seen RENT several times. She has done several in depth studies on RENT and Jonathan Larsen and has performed material from RENT several times.

She was thrilled in Sept. to meet Anthony at an event she saw him in NY soon after she arrived at college. Then last week, Anthony came to do a Master Class at her dorm and she was signed up for a lottery to have a chance to be someone who got coached by him and she was chosen and was ecstatic at the opportunity to have Anthony work with her on a song, after being in awe of him since she was little, as well as being a theater kid and pursuing a career in Musical Theater. Following the coaching, there was a Q and A with the audience and the students wanted Anthony to sing a song from RENT but the pianist had already left by then and my daughter, who is also a pianist, volunteered to play and so she got to accompany Anthony as he sang Halloween from RENT! She couldn't believe in her wildest dreams she'd ever accompany Anthony Rapp, LOL. Anthony is the epitome of an accomplished actor who gives back to those who emulate him in particular. He sure made my kid one happy kid that night and she won't ever forget it.
