Don't try to tell coolkid anything. He won't listen, he's annoyed people on several other boards with his nonsense. The best thing to do is simply ignore him: but he still wont go away.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
Please let it close and rest in peace. It's bad enough 3/4 of the threads will be about Rent until June. I can't handle adding another 2-3 months to that.
Even if they live to be 100, none of them will ever look like that.

Please!!!!! I saw Adam Pascal and Anthony Rapp 3x this summer and they both looked great and were great. Their last performance together was incredible.
About this extension possibility, if it is announced, where would be the best place to find it first? I just joined this site and obviously, you all knew way before I did. I got an email from the RENT newsletter at 1:34 pm, way too late to get tickets for the last night. By the way, stubhub is selling tickets for the last performance for $3000 each and they aren't even good seats.
Only up till the end of june right now so you can't even buy for the rumored extension yet..My question to the OP is why 8/24? Why not 9/1? Or further into sept?
Damn, I shoulda just bought a bunch of tickets and re-sold them to random people. What a great investment that would have been. I trust neddy's sources so I guess once this extension is announced I will be doing just that.
"Some people can thrive and bloom living life in a living room, that's perfect for some people of one hundred and five. But I at least gotta try, when I think of all the sights that I gotta see, all the places I gotta play, all the things that I gotta be at"
To Whom it May Concern: Tweleve years ago Jonathan Larson started a legacy by releasing RENT to the world. He put so much of himself into this play, that he lost his life to it. Jonathan's father, Allan, was so apt to make RENT hit in ordered to keep his son alive. Since then, this truly amazing portrayl of life, love, friendship, and No Day But Today has continued to touch people's lives everywhere. By taking this wonderful masterpiece off of Broadway, a crime is being commited. By taking RENT off of Broadway, you're taking away the chance of a life time for people everywhere. So, here is a collection of RENT fans who are willing to take their time to sign this petition, and to share how RENT has touched their lives. I am honored to be the first to sign. "No other road, No other way, No Day But Today." -Jonathan Larson, RENT
I'm going to start a petition to get whoever drafted the ReNt petition to take an English course.

MiniMenzel08, do you not realize that the reason the show is closing is because it costs money to keep it open every week, and the show is losing money now?
The producers are not closing the show because they have some vendetta against the memory of Jonathan Larson.
In fact, RENT has probably stayed open long past its time due to the exact opposite of that.
So I think that petition is pretty juvenile, whether or not you started it.

Yeah I know! It's just something to do!!!! Somebody suggested on another site that we start a fan fund! That wouldn't be too bad I guess! And sorry if I'm causing problems!
Well said Foster and 100% correct. Its a business- nothing else!
A young actress with Noel coward after a dreadful opening night performance said to him 'Well, i knew my lines backwards this morning!''
Noels fast reply was ''Yes dear, and thats exactly how you said them tonight'!'
That is so stupid. First, the idea that RENT has become so mainstream that it now stunt casts using stars from a reality TV show is so far beyond what Larson had intended for his show. It's ridiculous. The show should have closed for the 10th anniversary instead of going out with this sad sack of a cast. I'm more pissed because of the people that are playing the parts on Broadway - get some people in there with real raw talent.
