I just returned from today's matinee. Norbert was in and was absolutely wonderful. Does he always speak to John during the bows? It was a great show and the audience loved every moment!
It was curtain calls I was talking about . I expect Norb will make some kind of little speech or something as a tribute to John & it would be great to see also any response John has. NEVER tke photos during a show.
I was walking by the Imperial today to see "Spamalot" and saw there was no line in front of DRS..thought they were only doing the 7pm show, but based on these posts there was a 2 and a 7. (Spam was at 3..) Seeing Spam made me want to see DRS again--which for me was superior to Spam in everyway, but particularly music and plot!!
Broadwayluva, so glad you liked Joe so much! Indeed he is incredibly talented in the part, and one of the sweetest people I always see at the stage door. I talked to him tonight about going on Fri night and Sat mat. and he said something about Norbert doing the night show and today and "being back on track"...I took that to mean that maybe he's feeling better and will be in for a while now? Oh and Norbert talked at the stage door. Not that he went on and on, but people mentioned he's mouthed in the past and he talked and didn't mouth this time...so maybe he's feeling better? Guess we'll see.

What guy? Oh the guy that liked his tushi? I don't think he was heckling him really, Norbert seemed amused.

Yeah. It was rather odd scene. WRQ, its so late and correct me if I mess this up, but didn't that guy say something like, "Hey Norbert. Thanks for showing your @$$". The Norbert replied amusingly, "Why don't you show me yours?" The guy then proceeded to...though it was too cold for anyone to take off their pants. Ah the joys of stage door antics.
What?? Were we still on different sides at this point b/c i don't remember that. I just remember some guy telling him he's the coolest performer ever for showing his butt cheek. He seemed amused at that, but I could understand him feeling heckled by the other guy. Wow, sorry I missed that.

Hmm, perhaps you are right, WRQ. I wrote that at a muddled time of the morning so the memory was probably a bit foggy. Maybe heckling isn't the right word for it but it was amusing to say the least. Norbert gave the guy about three confused glances.
i wish i saw him. i've been on a hiatus from this site, and of course didn't know any of this. my mom got me tickets for xmas and we went on jan 4. john and norbert both weren't there, so we exchanged our tickets for jan 13. we saw fiddler instead which was better than i expected. so we went on friday and i was disappointed he wasn't there, the understudy was good, but from seeing norbert live at the thanksgiving day parade and on tv on the tony's, i wish it could have been him. oh well. just another reason to go back and see his performance. he's in it till july i believe? correct me if i'm wrong please :)

Sir Liir--Any update on Norbert's voice? I went to the Norbs site and saw your updates but nothing on this...BTW, early reports on Jonathan Pryce and Mylinda Hull are very positive..I think I need to see this again when Rachel joins the cast..
newgirl--Just read on the other board Norbs was in last nite..so cross your fingers! He is amazing in this role-vocally, comically, and even dramatically (watch him when he tells Lawrence that he could be trouble for him because "I have a big mouth..". )

Oh, dear. That's... odd. Yeah, odd.

I chose, and my world was shaken- So what? The choice may have been mistaken,
The choosing was not...
