Hi I am new. I was a longtime lurker and now I'm a member! My question is about the free Millie CD sampler I picked up at Barnes and Noble the other day. I expected it to be highlights from the show but it's an all new recording! what is even more interesting is Millie. It doesn't sound like Sutton Foster. Does anyone know who it is?
Is it Kristin? She was reading for Millie for a long time.
Idina: Somehow I got myself to the stage, came out at the end of the show, and I had some kind of closure.
Some guy: You looked great!
Idina: Thanks...I WAS SO HIGH!

Thanks for the quick replies. It's definitely not Kristin but it could be Erin. It's been so long since I heard Erin sing so I can't be sure. The sampler has three tracks: Thoroughly Modern Millie (with different lyrics than the Broadway recording) and Forget About The Boy and Jimmy. It's a fun collector's item but I wish they would credit the singers.
Any CD sampler of the show is from the Original Broadway Cast ... it may be the pre-recorded, which is a variation from the LaJolla cast (including Sutton). Sutton is the only person who has recorded these songs and had them distributed.
On the Marriot Marquis website, about a year and a half ago, I sent in a request for a CD sampler, but I got the "dreaded postcard" that said that the offer had expired. So I am wondering how a Barnes and Noble got it.

I could be wrong but it really doesn't sound like Sutton Foster. It sounds like someone else. I got the CD at Barnes and Noble in Costa Mesa across from South Coast Plaza. I went upstairs to check out their showtunes section and saw a whole stack of Millie Samplers on a table underneath a sign that read "Win Millie Tickets Here!" The show opened tonight in Costa Mesa so I went over the enter the contest only to find that they were actually giving away tickets to the LA production that had already closed. LOL Anyway I picked up a CD as a souvenir and popped it in my car player on the way home and did a double take when I discovered it was not the Broadway cast recording! I can go back tomorrow and pick up a few more for some people here if you like. I don't know how many I can pick up without looking like a freak but I can grab a few more. LOL There were only a handful left and hopefully they haven't taken the display down yet.
thats so kind! while your there can u pick up some paul frank too, thanks!! jk. and what are you talking about, you cant be a freak when hoarding like 3 crates of the samplers! its all in fun and people should know better since its millie!
