Lady Gaga just passed the audition for Mother Abbess in the next big production of TSOM.
"There is no use trying," said Alice; "one can't believe impossible things." "I dare say you haven't had the practice," said the Queen. "When I was your age, I always did it for half an hour a day. Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast." --Alice in Wonderland
I will admit I am a mega fan of Gaga's and I know the board hasn't been kind to Gaga so I was very nervous clicking on this thread. Glad to know most are approving. I love her as a pop artist, but what really makes me happy is when she sings the songs I know and love. I'm so happy for her, you can tell with the Jazz album and now this that she truly is content :)
Gaga needs to be on Broadway pronto! Her performance was so beautiful that I think she'd be perfectly cast as Eva Peron and now she can do anything she wants since she has made a name for herself.
Lady Gaga + Hollywood Bowl 2016? I really think she's underrated in a sense. People forget her raw talent and instead focus on her techno music/fashion/antics/love life. We need more powerhouse belting from her!!

Huge fan of Madonna's Evita, and would LOVE to see Gaga get a crack at it on stage. So, no conflict here. Big fan of both ladies. Madonna was perfect for the movie. Gaga would be beyond brilliant onstage.
But for real, if you want a killer rendition of "My Favorite Things" check out Kelly Clarkson's Christmas album. She nails it. I thought Gaga was good. But her "legit" sound isn't impressive at all. Considering what we're use to hearing.

Actually agree with you. It's impressive because it's not expected from a popstar, but it wasn't jaw-droppingly amazing. I thought Carrie Underwood sounded sensational in the original stage keys.
