oh boy - there are gonna be a lot of sad and angry people on this site for the next few months...LOL....but I say "Go have fun, Kristin - your upcoming gigs look great for you!"

"I don't really get the ending, all i can go with is when after several months,Judith saw Pat sang, and later she kissed him on the toilet, after that the story back to where Pat went down from the stage after he'd sung, and he went to the italian lady.I just don't get it,what Judith exatcly meant when he kissed Pat that she had seen, and did Pat end up together with The Italian Lady? Please help me,thank u very much!" Quote from someone on IMDB in reference to a movie he/she didn't understand. Such grammar!

Wow, Kristin is booked for quite a bit after Wicked. She's definitely become very "popular"! Oh boy, that was cheesy, wasn't it?

Let's hope that before Kristin leaves, she takes every opportunity to flee from overzealous fans by running down the street! Take a lesson from Idina, Kristin -- you ain't gotta be worrying about being "pop-u-ooh-lar!"

I wish her well and hope she takes another stab at a sitcom ...as a hit sitcom will keep her away from the New York stage for at least 5 seasons...

Bon Voyage, Kristy Baby!

Honestly,

I don't usually fight battles for performers....but it REALLY baffles me why people hate Kristen Chenoweth on this board for doing her job as a comedic musical theatre actress, and doing it well....It's really annoying. I think it just boils down to some sort of odd jealousy issues. Because Kristin is one of the most talented, yet down to earth and nice people I've ever met.

With that said, I wish her well, and that her career really continues to take off, and she gets all the success that she deserves. While it saddens me that her run on Wicked is going to be cut short, I am just glad that I got to see her wonderful performance.

Cheers,
The Balladeer

I think it would be a hoot to have Megan Mulally in WICKED during her hiatus from W&G. As Glinda. Can you imagine?

I don't hate Kristin Chenoweth. I just felt her performance in WICKED was a one-note disaster so I don't think she did "her job as a comedic musical theatre actress" very well. I know little about her interactions with fans or what kind of person she is offstage. I only go by what I saw on that stage, and I was not impressed.

Wow- Kristen is gonna be really busy. She's already got the next 2 years planned out for her! I hope she comes back to Broadway soon, though. She is very "popular", and no JoizeyActor, it wasn't cheesy at all.

Balladeer... Christian Chenoweth's gifts were certainly on display in Wicked. Unfortunately, they were so strong that the creators of the show tailored so much of it to her strengths that it upset the balance of the show so badly that it makes absolutely NO sense whatsover. Glinda is the antagonist in that story. But you'd never know it from the mess onstage nightly.

It's going to be funny watching all the gnashing of teeth on this board from the Wicked Addicts. They have me convinced that Christian is NOT replaceable. Might as well shut that show down on July 18!

Personally, I only found her off stage persona irritating until I read the following interview in the Toronto Star, linked from this site. NOW I absolutely can't stand her, cuz if it's one thing I can't stand, it's phoney baloneys.

"Sometimes I think I belong in another era," she says a bit wistfully. "I've never been a rock 'n' roll gal. Straight, square, sweet; that's me."

Somebody PLEASE invent a time machine post haste.

I wish she was at least sticking with it until September.
I do hope her future projects are successful. :)

I just pray she finds a place that's more in tune with her, you know, spiritual needs. Might I suggest Branson, Missouri?

Okay, I occasionally lurk here, (I was never even registered here) but I just had to respond to this post.

FindingNamo, I don't know which parts of your post were sarcastic and which were your honest opinion, but (firstly) it's KRISTIN, and not CHRISTIAN. If you're going to accuse her of being a phoney baloney, at least get her name right, because otherwise, you sound a bit foolish (again, I don't know if the mispelling was some sort of sarcasm based on the use of religion in the TORONTO article, but still.)

Second, I am sorry you and a few others did not like the show, or Kristin as Glinda. Of course, we all have our individual opinions and not all shows or all performers are for all people. And that is perfectly okay.

However, I do agree that there is a bizarre amount of nastiness on this board (not just directed at Kristin, but at others too,) and while I can understand not enjoying her performance or her singing style (and/or critiquing both,) I do NOT understand the undercuts at her character, which could not POSSIBLY be more false. (Although whether they're true or not is really not the point.) The point is...if you don't know Kristin Chenoweth -- if you have never met her, and/or had any interaction with her, then why say anything regarding what sort of person she is? Is that necessary to get your point across? Is it at all relevant to the type of performances she gives?

Not that I normally go around defending Kristin on message boards, but I just felt like responding to this particular message this morning, especially since the publicists of WICKED have finally decided to make her exit-date public. I suppose I was hoping to see more of... "congratulations on your success, good luck in the future."

It is sad that nastiness should prevail. Updated On: 4/15/04 at 12:14 PM

Ahem. Thank you for having me back here today on such short notice.

Unlike many people, I enjoyed many aspects of Christian's performance in Wicked. Unfortunately, it was a performance in a role that made no sense and which upset the dramatic balance of the show being performed. Did she make me laugh? Yes. Did I enjoy "Popular?" Very much so.

Do I find her tales in the press of the upward spiritual battle she must endure in showbiz to be tedious? VERY VERY much so (this was a frequent theme during the promotion of her sitcom). I would suggest that she stop even trying to make it in the godless secular world and go directly to the smaller, but nurturing and highly profitable world of Chrisitan music and Dove awards.

America, are you still searching for the new Mrs. Gifford? I give you: Christian Lee Chenoweth.

I'm so sad to hear this news, but I also look forward to seeing someone else in the role.

Loved Chenoweth in the role. Hope she will come back to do the movie...if the movie is based on the musical and not the book.

This wouldn't affect a Tony nomination, right?
