Did they really call her a "Triple" threat? Have they seen her dance? Her singing, Amazing. Her acting, well whatever.. Her dancing, definitely threatening.
She sounds like a good loving person, somewhat full of herself "Oh they hate me because I am talented" But in that dumb blonde vein, she'd got it covered.
Yes, I was rather fond of the line, "They hate me because I'm talented." Maybe I should start using it in my own life... But cute article, thanks for posting!
I guess she's confirmed for the new Mel Brooks musical.
"If the sitcom with Nathan Lane, about a pair of talk show hosts like Regis and Kelly, is picked up, how will she juggle it with playing the Madeline Kahn role in the stage musical adaptation of “Young Frankenstein,” scheduled for October 2007?"
CurtainPullDowner, why shouldn't she be full of herself? Why shouldn't anyone feel good about themself? Being proud of your talents and sharing that with others is nothing to be ashamed of. She sounds like a total sweetheart. Let people feel good, and don't label good self-esteem as selfish or negative.
"Winning a Tony this year is like winning Best Attendance in third grade: no one will care but the winner and their mom."
-Kad
"I have also met him in person, and I find him to be quite funny actually. Arrogant and often misinformed, but still funny."
-bjh2114 (on Michael Riedel)
Anyone know anything else about the sitcom with Nathan Lane? I guess it could be filmed in NYC (more and more shows are...well at least a few are) and maybe that's how it would be easier for her to do Young Frankestein.
She’s like a bag of puppies, each ambition tumbling over the others in a desire to get out.

Well, stella, the sitcom was first mentioned in an article on theatremania.com, but all Kristin said was that she and Nathan Lane were taking part in it.
"Ev'ry-buddy wants ta get into de act!"
- Jimmy Durante
"Breathe from your hoo-hoo."
-Kristin Chenoweth
"She sounds like a good loving person, somewhat full of herself "Oh they hate me because I am talented" But in that dumb blonde vein, she'd got it covered"
CurtainPullerDowner, what is wrong with her saying people were jealous of her talent? People do hate others because of their talent. If you were a Tony winner and as successful as she is it is fine to admit you're talented.
"that various people claiming to be her birth parents have recently materialized, seeking money."
You know you're a theater geek when that line conjures up a scene from ANNIE.
I'm glad someone said it before I did. Because that was all I could think of when I read it. I had no idea she was adopted. Cute article, though.
"This table, he is over one hundred years old. If I could, I would take an old gramophone needle and run it along the surface of the wood. To hear the music of the voices. All that was said." - Doug Wright, I Am My Own Wife
Great interview! I've always been a fan of hers, and I can't wait to see her in person in THE APPLE TREE :) She is so cute, and in my opinion, is the best Broadway performer of present time.
I don't know. I've never really felt strongly about her one way or the other. I think she's a wonderfully talented singer, but I tend to find that a little of her goes a long way.
With that being said, this article did nothing but tip the ballance onto the negative side. First of all, I feel so bad for that dog. It's one thing to put a sweater on your dog (certainly small ones need them when it gets cold out) but I don't think I've ever seen a dog that looked comfortable walking around in boots. She even said that she's sure the dog isn't happy about it, but basically, it amuses her, so who cares.
And I think comments like "Ms. Chenoweth said she now resolves this sort of thing by cutting off contact 'the minute something goes awry with me and another female'" are just preposterous. That's a great philosphy on how to live your life. I'm freakishly talented and all the other girls are sickeningly jealous of me, so whenever a conflict comes off I'll just detatch myself from the situation, because that's much more sensible than trying to sort through it.
But when did New Hampshire become--Such a backward wasteland of seatbelt hating crazies?...I mean, only 40 people actually live there. The others are just visitors who come for the tax-free liquor and three inches of novelty coastline. John Hodgeman on The Daily Show (1-30-07)
Well mabel..as some of us get older..the 'been there done that' gets really old. Sometimes we just decide it's much easier to cut people off than to have to deal with the bull****.
-Politics is like driving. To go backward, put it in R. To go forward, put it in D.
Mabel, I have a feeling Cheno probably has tried it your way many times in her life. She's almost 40 now, so I think she just gave up.
"I've got to get me out of here
This place is full of dirty old men
And the navigators and their mappy maps
And moldy heads and pissing on sugar cubes
While you stare at your books."
I'd imagine that's a fine philosphy to a certain extent, but for a collaborative environment such as theater, I have a hard time believing that's a particularly useful/helpful mentality to have. I suppose as long as any conflicts can be put aside when you hit the boards, fine, but it seems kind of an iffy way to go about your personal/professional life.
Whatever, I'm never going to work with her or know her, so I guess that's something that the people who do have to "contend" with.

Despite Idina's words at the Tony, Kristin and Idina absolutely loathe each other. The song "loathing" actually conveyed how they felt about each other.
"It does what a musical is supposed to do; it takes you to another world. And it gives you a little tune to carry in your head. Something to take you away from the dreary horrors of the real world. A little something for when you're feeling blue. You know?"
