I need some songs that would lighten a mood. I have already "Always look on the bright side of life" from SPAMALOT , "I got rhythm" and "Empty Chairs at Empty Tables" From LES MIS. (Kidding!)

"I Read" - Passion.

But really, if you take "Everything's Coming up Roses" out of context and look it as a genuine hopeful song, it could be uplifting?

Or the Sound of Music etc.

or Light from N2N?

"For Now" - Avenue Q?

Idk, there are probably uplifting songs in every 0.8 musicals because the nature of theatre etc..

"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022) "Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009) "Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000

In context, how happy is "happy talk" meant to be? At least as presented in the revival PBS broadcast it seemed a little depressing.

When I'm upset and I listen to next to normal and "There's a World" comes on I feel even worse. All I can think about is Diana crying....But "Light" is a hopeful song.

"Wig In A Box" from Hedwig is uplifting in an eccentric way if you listen to the lyrics. It makes me happy.

"I'm A Brass Band" from Sweet Charity.
