I don't watch GLEE but I am considering it since so many people are giving me grief, even though I hated the first few episodes. So what is the deal? Is it in its second season? Someone said it is still in it's first season. It seems like its been running for years. So what is the deal and how many more episodes are left of this season/installment. I just wondered how much time I am investing to catch up?

Yes, it is still in its first season. It is just the second half of the first season. The second season starts this fall.

I believe that season two begins filming in June.

Last time I checked, the finale was June 8, 2010.

But why cave in to peer pressure? You tried it, you didn't like it. You truly are not missing anything. The last few episodes have not advanced the plot at all. I'm proud to say I'm a non-watcher.

How do you know the last few episodes haven't advanced the plot at all if you are a non-watcher?

I guess it is more based on the opinions of who is recommending it. These are people that I truly respect and are some of my closest friends and theatre buddies. I feel as though I should be open. It doesn't hurt to compromise sometimes.

It's also really just a matter of taste. For the most part, I really don't care for it. Some episodes are flat out painful. But there are some good parts. (I watch it online if I have nothing else to do, but it's not a priority for me)

Willep -- my students talk about it a lot. I know about most tv from them! (And from here, of course!)

They aired the pilot about a year ago as a "teaser", then it didn't return for 3 or 4 months, and the hiatus this winter was another 3-4 months, so that might be why it seems like it's been running forever....

(annoys the hell out of me at times, but I still love it)

I'll bet one of the things your students never learn is about forming their own opinions ......

Yeah, the "back nine" (of still the first season) have not been great at all so far. The story is going nowhere at all. The show was never perfect, but at least it was sort of entertaining before its hiatus.

If this goes on to win the Emmy... ugh. Well, I guess it would be like if [insert nominee] wins Best Musical this year.

The whole 'Story not going anywhere' things kinda bugs me.

Glee reminds me of shows like the X Files (stay with me lol) the X files had episodes what were pretty much stand alone as well as story based back to back episodes. That's what Glee does.

It has fun (and brilliant) episodes like the Madonna one etc where its more about the music and the comedy but then a few episodes later it will kick in with story lines again. And i have to say i like that.

"It has fun (and brilliant) episodes like the Madonna one etc..."

Ha HA! I love a good parody post.

That show has one and a half more seasons in it at most til it limps to a mostly unwatched and inconclusive final episode with a few dweebs lamenting how "they kept shifting it around on the schedule til nobody even knew it was on and people just gave up! Wahhhhhh!"

I remember when television series had stand alone episodes, one with a beginning, a middle and an end. The following week was a whole new story. Now every show has to be soap opera.

FindingNamo yeah yeah you hate Madonna we all get it *yawns*

And you are an idiot if you theink Glee will die in under 2 more seasons. the thing is a worldwide sensation. Here in the UK its everywhere and doing huge business for the channel its on. The show would have to loose all its American viewers to even getting considered for the axe. And its not only getting great ratings now which have gone UP it's demo is brilliant.

Your predictions are not the best when it comes to TV Namo im afraid, after all did you not say Cougar Town would fail and not get a second season as well?

In Namo's defense, Cougar Town turned into a completely different show than what it was set up to be. A much better show.

Also, the name of Cougar Town might be changed for next season.

That;s interesting about Cougar Town. I've never watched Cougar Town but what is reason behind the name change?

Because the title implies it's about older women bedding a bunch of younger men, but it's not really about that. It quickly morphed into more of an ensemble show about Courteney Cox's character and her friends and family.

Twin Peaks was an international sensation too, SandM. And it didn't even get a full two seasons. I know in other parts of the world 4-6 episodes is a "series," but here they're called "seasons" and they're around 22 episodes each.

Glee will never have more than 70 episodes. You'll see. 100 episodes is the magic number here in order for a show to be sellable in syndication. Glee won't hit that number and audiences will have largely abandoned it by the time it fades away and is shown repeatedly on Logo for a couple of years.

Also, you can criticize my ideas and presentation all you want, but I never directly address other posters as "idiots."
