hey guys...as a christmas gift this year I'm planning on burning all my friends CDs of holiday songs from musicals. Can you all help me out? Hopefully enough good songs exist to make a whole CD out of. I already have "New Deal For Christmas", "We Need A Little Christmas", "Turkey Lurkey Time"...there's bound to be more out there! Please any help at all is appreciated!
PS...I'd like to include other winter holidays besides Christmas, so any holiday song would work! Also maybe some new years songs?? Thanks!
"Johnny cheated. Frankie killed him. Johnny cheated so Frankie killed him. Shot and killed him. Don't blame her - I'd have done it, too."
"Who Says There Aint No Santa Claus?" from FLAHOOLEY!
On a Ben Bagley E.Y. Harburg album (I think it is on CD) there is "Sing The Merry", the scathing but funny Christmas song from FLAHOOLEY! (that was cut on the road) about spending money on gifts, complete with cash register jingle bells.
There is also the song "Christmas Lullaby" from Songs for a New World by Jason Robert Brown
"Hold your head up high!"- Honk!
"The Phantom of the Opera is there inside my mind." - Phantom of the Opera
"Never put your own money into a show...that's TABOO!" - Nathan Lane in The Producers

Hard Candy Christmas from Best Little Whorehouse in Texas
My Favorite Things from The Sound of Music
Christmas Bells from Rent
Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas from Meet Me In St. Louis
The Perfect Year from Sunset Boulevard
Sabbath Prayer from Fiddler on the Roof (not a holiday song, but it is beautiful)
If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.
The big christmas bells are ringing in rent is so much fun.
By the way, I love the Twelve Days to Christmas in She Loves Me.
Also I don't know if there is an album, but Meredith Wilson wrote a christmas spectacular, and I think that it was original music? Anyone know if it was orig? THANKS
STEVOS
"IF I TRY THERE MAY BE A CHANCE / WE COULD LOVE WITH OUR EYES CLOSED/ WITH OUR EYES CLOSED WE COULD CHANGE THE WORLD!"- Stephen Dwight
Stevos, are you thinking of HERE'S LOVE (I mentioned it above) which is a musical adaptation of Miracle on 34th St? It opened with the whole darn Thanksgiving Parade on stage!
May I suggest both A Broadway Christmas and a Hollywood Christmas both released by Varese Sarabande and produced by Bruce Kimmel with many familar vocalists on both cds.
"Surabuya Santa" from Songs For a New World. It's hysterical. It's Mrs. Santa Claus lamenting about her husband and their relationship. It's one of the funniest Broadway songs I've ever heard.
