As we all know Saint Dollypop is on his pilgrimage to the Grotto in Lourdes and since he feels it would be inappropriate for him to Bitch Slap anyone during this Holy time, he has given me the power to do it for him until he returns to us mortals.
It could most likely be found at any store that sells music. I saw it at Wal-Mart this morning for cryin' out loud. And if they carry it, then I'd say any music-related store would have it since it's brand-spankin' new. I bought the CD this morning and I absolutely love it. Bernadette's vocals are great...in my opinion. Tammy Blanchard and John Dossett are very good as well. "Some People, "Everything's Coming Up Roses," "Rose's Turn," "Together," and "The Strip( Let Me Entertain You)" are the best renditions I've heard of these songs by far. I own the Lansbury and Daly recordings as well and have to say that this is by far the best.
Um, of course it's on sale everywhere you can buy music. The stores had most likely had them in for a few days but just put them out today because of it being the release date.
OK well I got there about 12 o'clock, and there were so many people online already! I was there with my best friend, my sister and my mom, and my mom was so worried that they would cut off the line before we got into the store.
When I reached Bernadette, I didn't know what to say (even though I've met her before), so I said something cheesy like "You were so amazing in GYPSY, and that's an understatement", ya know, stuff like that. She seemed to have remembered me, though! I hope she did, we've talked before...hahahaha
Between the 4 of us, we bought 8 cd's hahaha. I had to buy 3, one my for and 2 for my friend and his friend, my sister got one, my best friend got 2, and my mom got 2 (one for her friend and one for her car). We originally had 7, but we waited until the signing was over (I wanted a poster in the window and one of the guys told us to wait), so my mom decided to buy another cd and we got online again!
And in the end, I did get one of the posters from the windows (which I am going to have matted and framed) and a picture of Bernadette and John (a nice one, where they posed for us), and ALMOST got to see GYPSY tonight. We had to get home, though, because my 5 year old brother was at his friends house all day.
Overall, I'd say it was a good day

I just got the Gypsy CD!! It is not the best (I am into rock musicals), but it is good. I am really not into it yet, but I will be. It ususally takes a couple days.
I admit. It took me more than a while to get acquinted w/ Gypsy's score. But now I'm in love w/ it. Those songs grow on you. Also, does anyone else think that Bernadette's "Small World" on the recording is nothing short of fantastic? The first minute and a half makes me want to cry.
