I did a search and didn't see any mention of this. I didn't want to put it on the other thread, in case people didn't notice. I went on their website and they will have a general rush for $32. So for people like me, who are not students, this is great news.
Great news indeed! There are several productions over the past few years that I would have taken a chance on IF they had a general rush (or even a senior rush!). Why only STUDENT rushes - shouldn't they be back in their dorms cramming for exams????

I always hope for a TEACHER rush -- we certainly don't make lots of money teaching the precious kiddos!
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?

I just called the box office to see if I missed the chance to get a rush ticket for tonight. They said that because it's in previews, they aren't doing rush. I am guessing that rush doesn't start up until after it opens.

Thanks for the info; I'm already a TDF member. Got tix to both The Other Place and Drood last week thru them.
And as the previous poster said, they have a student membership as well.

As annoying as it was to not be able to get a rush ticket for the first preview (this show is the number one show I've been looking forward to this spring) I am willing to give the folks at the Brooks Atkinson the benefit of the doubt, specially considering that some shows that offer rush don't do so in previews.

Has anybody tried? It seems someone was successful no matter what the person on the phone said. I may stop by the box office today or tomorrow and just ask. I'm fine with them not offered during previews, just happy they're offering them at all.
khakis, just a few posts up, PlayItAgain says that he tried and succeeded a couple of days ago...but if you try it, please let us know how it works out!
April, I saw that, but winston also called and was told no the exact same day. I just wanted to see if anyone else succeeded just to know for sure. Thanks!
I went to the box office on Saturday the 23rd (1st preview day) at about 1:00 p.m., and the lady in the box office (who was very nice) sold me 2 general rush tickets right away. Mid-mezz center, which is just fine for this show. I really hated it, but that's another story.
nasty_khakis, I think that it was established that there was conflicting information going on there about rush. Something that does happen for a first preview. I did however, manage to get a rush ticket for this show today, showed up at around shy after ten. Got a great seat center orchestra no problem. Now, I am very excited and this is all I can think about for the rest of today.

Good for you, Winston! Enjoy...I was thinking about rushing today because I figured Mondays might be slow, and now will probably give it a try in a week
I rushed yesterday at 7PM for the 8 O'clock show and they gave me a ticket no problem. I was sat in B3 and the women in the box office were so excited to have given me a "good seat". While I appreciated their enthusiasm, B3 was not the best seat since I spent my time with my head up and sideways and you couldn't see some of the action since the truck was in the way, but nonetheless I enjoyed the show!
I got there at about noon on Saturday and they had tickets available for both shows that day. I went in the afternoon and sat first row Mezz on the aisle. Perfect seats.
