Glee, Episode 4 = YAWN.
Inconsistent, predictable, melodramatic, and stupid.
But the greatest crime? Wasn't even remotely funny.

I'm still having difficulty with the idea that Rachel's the best singer in the group. Minus that last note, Tina's "Tonight" was freaking fantastic.
Also, I'm really starting to dislike her character.
Jimmy, what are you doing here in the middle of the night? It's almost 9 PM!

Posted: 9/24/09 at 12:42amYeah they need to tone down the some of the characters unlikable tendencies. I'm already over Sue's scheming...Rachel's over inflated ego (yes her singing is fantastic, but hasn't she gotten it into her head that GLEE is a group effort), and as much as I'm happy that have a gay representing, does he have to be so damn typically flaming? I'm surprised his dad didn't just burst out and say "No SH*T...I'm not retarded" when Kurt told him he was gay. Albeit, it was moving...if only the show had more moments like that. It just seems like it's all over the place. Seriously, I was so behind this show when it started, but every week...it seems to lose me more and more with it's silliness and too many ridiculous plotlines. It makes me miss Ryan Murphy's original HS effort "Popular" more and more.

BTW - Mike O'Malley, who plays the dad, is the brother of Kerry O'Malley, who was theBaker's Wife in the Into the Woods revival.
And, coincidentally, Jean Louisa Kelly, who co-starred with him on "Yes, Dear", was in the original ITW!
