Who's your favorite musical theatre belter? (besides Idina and Eden... not that they are mine... they just seem to be overly popular right now)

Mine:
Female: ALICE RIPLEY
Male: BRIAN d'ARCY JAMES

Gossipmongers used to say that Bing Crosby would really belt his wife and kids.

After singing a rather loud song, Judy Garland joked with her audience "They call me a "belter" and I don't know why?" After the laughter from the audience died down she added "...because I stopped making belts a long time ago." :)

Elphaba3, your post is just one of the reasons that some people on this board get pissed off with some "Wicked" fans. AGAIN, the original post said "besides Idina and Eden" but you are the second Wicked Head who did not bother to read or decided to ignore the post.

Yes, I chose to ignore it. If my opinions piss people off, so be it. I'm not doing any serious harm.

For once, I must side with Elphaba3...the original post is dumb. Not EVERYONE is goign to say Idina, and the fact is she is a good belter.

I stand by Maricel though...
Or Simone...

(What is it with people having only ONE name?)

agreed broadwayboi81. Alice Blows them all out of the water. AND she doesnt get screamy and obnoxious (eden) while doing it. She also has a pretty voice when she isnt belting. Alice is the best, no questions asked. If they revive Evita, there is nobody I want for the role except Alice. Lets be friends Broadwayboi!!!

I did not see anything dumb about the original post. It was a specific question that excluded two people that we all knew would have probably dominated the thread and I assume that the question was asked that way because broadwayboy81 wanted to see what people thought about people other than those two. But, of course, EVERYTHING has to be Wicked related. Can anyone ever start a thread on this board without that happening? I guess not.

It's settled then. We're officially friends!

I agree with Alice doing Evita. I know it's a role she wants as well!!! She may be singing some songs from it at the Kennedy Center in less than a month (music of andrew loydd weber). She would tear that up! Like you, I also enjoy her beautiful soprano voice.
