At the opening night of Gypsy I spotted Barbara Cook, Stephen Sondhein, Athru Laurents, Michael Cerveris and Vincent Garber. At Usher's debut in Chicago I saw Clive Davis, Gabrielle Union, Penelope Cruz, and S. Epatha Merkesun(sp - the Lieutenant from Law & Order). At Lion King I saw Donald Sutherland. At Drowsy Chaperone I saw actor Tony Goldwyn (Ghost, Pelican Brief).

Too many more to remember. Remember...the best time to see a show is during it's late previews or shortly after Opening Night. Those performances are usually attended by 'famous' celebrities.
And they're not really "celebs" but Skylar Astin and Brian Charles Johnson from Spring Awakening and Laura Osnes from Grease were at Grey Gardens when I was there.
Last summer I saw Jersey Boys and Rosie O'Donnell was there. I said hi and she was very nice.
"A birdcage I plan to hang. I'll get to that someday. A birdcage for a bird who flew away...Around the world."
"Life is a cabaret old chum, only a cabaret old chum, and I love a cabaret!"-RIP Natasha Richardson-I was honored to have witnessed her performance as Sally Bowles.
umm Rosie O'Donnell at fiddler, she sat in my row ( before she was in it) Kathrine Mcphee i heard was at Jersey boys when i was there but people i met at rush for that show sat next to us and sed they saw her at intermisson and Raven was at Beauty and the Beast.
Billy Joel, Steven Sater (not so weird, considering he wrote it), and paul reiser at spring awakening. Zach Braff was there when I went one day too, but I missed him.
John Travolta and Kelly Preston were at The Boy From Oz when I went for my first time and at intermission my aunt went over and screamed "Kelly" or something like that and Travolta turned around and looked for who was calling his wife.
Matt Damon, Barbara Walters, and Joel Grey were at the last Boy From Oz(Joel Grey walked by me).
I heard that Tim Burton, Helena Bonham Carter, and Johnny Depp were at Sweeney(would've loved to have been there). Jack Nicholson was at Jersey Boys(would've loved to have have been there too). Mel Brooks was at La Cage Aux Folles(would've loved to have been there too)
A friend of mine was pushed, accidently, by Vanessa Williams at Gypsy this past Monday. She apologized and he said "no problem, I am a big fan" and laughed. ANd she thanked him and smiled. He said there were a lot of performers there as it was a dark night for most shows on Monday.

'Our whole family shouts. It comes from us livin' so close to the railroad tracks'
Not counting the record-breaking performance of "The Phantom of the Opera" (I passed Lauren Bacall, John Lithgow, and Victor Garber in the lobby) and the opening night party for "Lestat"...
Two come to mind...
Two summers ago, Hugh Panaro mentioned Jeff Goldblum was seeing Phantom that particular night. I forgot that bit of information during the show. But when I was waiting for Hugh after the show, Jeff passed us in the alley and said "Hi" as one of my friends was lecturing us on the proper way to kill roaches.
On the first night of "Lestat" previews, I saw Alice Cooper leaving the stage door after the show.
I was at DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS and Hugh Jackman and Halle Berry were both there. Even saw Hugh Jackman backstage afterward. He seemed really happy to say "hi" to the crew at the Imperial. My friend and I were standing onstage and he saw us and waved.
I was also at the same performance of THE DROWSY CHAPERONE as Angela Lansbury.
