Why wouldn't Idina be able to turn her head? That whole thing seems silly, people bought way too easily into this whole diva meltdown and make it seem like they were both two brats vying for accolades.
It was Kristin that couldn't turn her head because she was wearing a diamond studded neckbrace.
If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.
I heard one Chenzel story where Idina accidentally slapped Cheno for real and a big ol' screaming match occurred backstage. It's crazy how big these things get.

ATTENTION FANS: I will be played by James Barbour in the upcoming musical, "BroadwayWorld: The Musical."
The whole Bundy/Butler feud is from Hairspray. Basically stories say that Bundy is/was a bit of a diva and had trouble getting along with people. There was even an interview at some point in time where Winoker said that she and Bundy didn't even become sorta friends until long after both of them left the show.
I think that the big feud between Butler and Bundy came around Tony time. Butler got the nom for best supporting actress and Bundy didn't and got angry because she didn't get her way.
Another Bundy story was from her standby days in Wicked. She kept making one crazy demand after another. The producers eventually caved and gave her whatever it was she wanted. Then she flew out to LA without any notice to anyone and she was fired because of that. They were going to no resign her because of the demands thing. But, they flat out fired her because leaving without warning was the icing on the cake.

That cannot be true at all, because neither one of them received Tony nominations.

I don't purport to know anything about the Bundy/Butler feud, but Butler was not nominated for a Tony for best featured actress for Hairspray, so that part of the story doesn't sound quite right...

Hume Cronyn and Jessica Tandy. Worked together, she was married (and I can't remember if he was), they fell in love, eventually married and had a life-long and reportedly happy personal and professional relationship.
Jerome Robbins and Zero Mostel, even thought they worked together. They really didn't like one another, as Mostel deeply resented Robbin's HUAC testimony.

Something else that makes me question the Bundy/Butler fight is that after Hairspray there was a point when they were trying to pitch a sitcom together.
Hal Prince and Michael Bennett- It began durring Follies. Bennett had more to do since Follies had a lot of musical numbers and not so much book. Prince loved the book. Bennett hated the book. Bennett was dying for complete control whch he certainly got from Seesaw onward (though he always collaborated on choregraphy with Bob Avian and in the case of Dreamgirls, Michael Peters). Prince will constantly say he was friendly, if competetive with Bennett till the end. Out of pure egotism, I doubt Bennett would have said the same thing.
Hal Prince and Bob Fosse- Hal hated a number Fosse staged for Damn Yankees out of town. Fosse heard him say this (listening through a very thin hotel room wall, actually) and later berated him as only Fosse could. They still remained on slightly good terms to my knowledge. When Prince cut the Whorehouse Ballet from New Girl in Town (at George Abbott's insistance, Hal claims) that was the end of whatever friendship was between Fosse and Prince (and Gwen Verdon). Prince was critical of Fosse's work (hated Pippin, hated Chicago). God knows what Fosse thought of Prince's (he liked Follies, according to Sondheim). They eventually made up a few years before Fosse's death. Also, Prince hired Nicole Fosse, Gwen and Bob's daughter for the New York company of Phantom and fondly recalls sitting with Gwen at the opening in one of the books written about him. They obviously made up too, though I don't think Gwen disliked Hal as much as her husband through their little, er, rivalry.

If you are going to tell a story about what a diva Bundy is at least tell the real version. Updated On: 1/17/08 at 07:49 PM
The only thing I've really heard about Bundy/Butler is not getting along during Hairspray, and then competition with other shows.
Mostly, what you hear about LBB is diva stories. Obviously, you never know if they're true, but also, maybe it's not that uncommon and such a big deal to have a diva. Goodness, I look at the people I do musicals, and even MYSELF sometimes, and that stuff happens in theatre. Not that it's an excuse to behave poorly and unprofessionally, but still.
I mean, Denzel Washington? Gun to my head..of course.
It is strange how it was announced that LBB was to take on Glinda in "Wicked" full-time but she then left the production before it actually came to fruition. I think I remember reading on here that she was bought out of her contract...I wonder if it was because of her not being available to go on as a standby when the needed her--taking the trip to L.A. and everything. That certainly would get a standby fired.
I remember reading on here that Mr. Ethan Hawke has some personal issues with Ms. Angela Lansbury because she said he didn't shower enough when they were on the "Sweeney" tour.
The story I said about Bundy being bought out of her contract is something I read on here in an old thread.
