Jason Danieley is very lucky to have The Visit to fall back on if Can Can doesn't transfer. He doesnt have a large role in Visit, but he has a wonderful solo.
It's coming. Kelli O'Hara will probably have to wait another year! Chita was the only thing about this show that worked for me (aside from the talented and underused chorus. Jason Danieley was the only one given a chance to shine-and his part could be larger. I felt a lot of these characters could be fleshed out.)
looks like it's all but done. Maybe it'll be just a short engagement through August?
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.
I just hope that we get an announcement soon. I've been patiently waiting since I was completely enthralled by the show at WTF. A shorter engagement would make the most sense. Opening late in the season is a very wise decision, as it could certainly shake up the Tony buzz/nominations.
Industry friends of mine advise that it is coming but for a limited engagement and the Lyceum is being considered along with the Hayes and yes the set is one of the factors.

The set/production would be much better suited at the Lyceum or Longacre than at the Hayes.
Have not seen the show but hear that it will go to a Shubert house and that the Lyceum is ideal but maybe the Longacre as well is being considered. The Hayes is an awfully small stage for that size set design.

yes, the Helen Hayes does seem too small. we'll see what happens.

Now ALL THAT CHAT has a post that the Renee Fleming project LIVING ON LOVE may come in as well.. If all is true, that would be mean 3 Williamstown shows on Broadway in one season! That's quite an accomplishment for them!
Although I guess Bradley Cooper, Renee Fleming and Chita Rivera deserve a good portion of the credit.
I hope it's the Lyceum for THE VISIT as mentioned on here. It has the dark creepier quality that would compliment it nicely. The Longacre seem so bright and cheery.
I would love for it to be open ended. I don't come to the city until September every year so I have my fingers crossed! I have never seen Chita live before.
I hope that you'll get to see Chita! It's a triumphant performance. A master class in subtly - in a role where many actresses would go way over the top. At almost 82-years-old, it's a very special performance, and we even get to see her dance!
It would fit much better in the Longacre than the Hayes. But I'm sure it'll be a limited run-there's only so long Chita can carry a show at her age. (Maybe they can get a name to replace her.)
I doubt Disgraced will go anywhere-they are probably hoping to keep it open for the Tonys. It's a serious contender for best play.
I think Chita could do it if she had an alternate. She could do 6 shows a week instead of 8. I'm not that frimilar with the show, so who would be a good alternate for her?
Although its a large and juicy role, much of her stage time is spent standing still with a cane. She does have periods of movement in several numbers, including a very powerful dance in her big solo towards the end of the show. I don't think she'll need an alternate.A strong and ready standby should be sufficient.
Alma Cuervo, please! As the standby! (I'd love to see her take.)
Ljay-am I the only one who wasn't taken with Rees? (I just didn't sense any chemistry between them.) I'm willing to give this another shot-if only to see Chita (and maybe...Alma?!)
I've mentioned earlier, Alma Cuervo is the most perfect replacement for Judy Kuhn, and would be an excellent cover for Chita.
I enjoyed Rees' animated performance. I thought he gave a very dark show some jolts of color, as his acting style was completely different from the rest of the cast. I'm sure he'll grow in the role if it does transfer.
I don't like Rees' voice much and he just had no softness about him (I wanted more tension between the two leads). I kind of hope they let Alma be the alternate. I love her voice. (I also could see her as a replacement Fraulein Schneider in Cabaret-I'd have put her in the role originally to be honest.)
