A young actress with Noel coward after a dreadful opening night performance said to him 'Well, i knew my lines backwards this morning!''
Noels fast reply was ''Yes dear, and thats exactly how you said them tonight'!'
blech... i love her but why does she keep taking these really mainstream roles in all these touristy type of shows? i mean YF was one thing because it was a Brooks musical following the huge sucess of Producers, but SHREK? I dont even understand why the hell they'd do a shrek musical, but for sutton to star in it sounds like a waste of her talent... i'd love to see her do something a little more serious next... shes way too talented.
Sutton Foster works more than anyone on Broadway. Seriously, I don't think she's been unemployed a day in the last eight years. Even between Millie and Little Women, she worked at the Pittsburgh CLO and other major regional theatres.
****, girl. ****.
I do think Sutton's a great choice for Fiona, but I would have rather seen Laura Bell Bundy.
I wonder who will replace her in YF? I bet it's Cady Huffman.
justfan2, Foster's final performance in YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN is at the beginning of July.
Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.
Broadway Shows I've Seen: Hairspray, Chicago, Little Shop of Horrors (2003), The Wedding Singer, Spamalot, Riverdance, Rent, Beauty and the Beast, Spring Awakening, Wicked, Legally Blonde, Phantom of the Opera, Sweet Charity (revival), Drowsy Chaperone, The Lion King, Dreamgirls(2010 Tour).
Doesnt make it a turkey! 'The Pirate Queen' was a turkey! 'Dance Of The Vampire' was a turkey!

My god, it's like she's in a new original cast twice a year. Does anybody know what the record is for the actor in the most original Broadway casts? Because I wouldn't be surprised if she held it someday...
How is this GOOD news for her? Seriously, is this the best offer she has? I thought Broadway stars were supposed to START OUT at Disneyland and work their way UP, not the other way around.

What are you talking about? The only touristy type show she's been in is YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN, and even that show isn't doing so great with the tourists.
MILLIE, LITTLE WOMEN, and DROWSY weren't popular with the tourists. LITTLE WOMEN attempted to be, but it didn't last long. And what's wrong with being in a successful show?
Brava to Sutton for landing a new role. She always brings something fresh to each performance, and I look forward to seeing her back singing Jeanine Tesori's glorious music again!

"I have also met him in person, and I find him to be quite funny actually. Arrogant and often misinformed, but still funny."

Millie was popular with the tourists. There is nothing wrong with taking big, broadway musicals. Tourists are the ones buying full priced tickets. I am sure this show will run for years. Sutton is talented. Hope Shrek is a great musical. I loved the first film and I love Tesori. David Lindsay Abaire wrote one of my favorite plays "Fuddy Meers" I hope the talented team has a great big hit. Corine
