I love the music so much. What a great score. I'd definitely go see it. My only problem with the show is the book. I wish they would tweak it just a bit.
I saw a small production of the show in Chicago and wasn't expecting much. I was pleasantly surprised! It was quite a fun show and if Eve is a good singer, you're in for a good time.
"What can you expect from a bunch of seitan worshippers?" - Reginald Tresilian
I don't think much of the show, it felt to me like 30-odd random songs somewhat about the story but without any real musical narrative, but it's still worth seeing.
I saw the DC production last spring a few times- it was very enjoyable. To whoever asked, Karen Olivio and Becca Ayers were among the cast members. I much preferred Becca (as a vocalist) over Stephanie Mills' on the American Premiere Recording. I never saw Stephanie perform the role though, so I am only going by the recording.
"Why do you care what people might say? Why try to fit into their design?" (Side Show)
I was in this show about a year and a half ago.. It's an amazing show.. As long as the cast is strong the audience will probably be in tears.. That was one of our achievements, we always had people crying in the audience. It isn't a dialogue heavy show, it's mainly music..
I wouldn't miss it if I were you!
