My all time favorite for me is Donny Osmond and Vanessa Williams singing on Donny Osmond's cd "Not While I'm Around" from Sweeney Todd. Micheal Ball also sings it beautifully on his cd to. Also, "It Takes Two" from Hairspray and "As Long As Your Mine" from Wicked.
To me the ultimate song about marriage or being with someone is "Being Alive" from the show Company, I highly recommend Bernadette Peters' rendition but Dean Jones (original performer of the song) is great too. The song "It Takes Two" from the show Into the Woods is also a good idea. "The Last Night of the World" could also work perhaps, it's a beautiful duet from Miss Saigon. "Not A Day Goes By" by Mrs.Peters is also a great song. There's also a song from Company called "Marry Me A Little," you should listen to it and see if it fits. Like someone else said, if you want to be funny about the issue, get "(Not)Getting Married Today" or "Little Things You Do Together" from Company too.
"Some people can thrive and bloom living life in a living room, that's perfect for some people of one hundred and five. But I at least gotta try, when I think of all the sights that I gotta see, all the places I gotta play, all the things that I gotta be at"
"I'm getting married in the morning" - My Fair Lady
"Smart! And into all those exotic mystiques -- The Kama Sutra and Chinese techniques. I hear she knows more than seventy-five. Call me tomorrow if you're still alive!"
dont know if it has been mentioned, but I turned the Corner from Millie could work as well.
"Beating AIDS and extreme, stupid poverty, this is our moon shot. This is our civil rights struggle, our anti-apartheid movement. This is what the history books will remember our generation for--or blame us for, if we fail."-Bono
I'm Not That Girl is NOT a good suggestion. It's all about how the other girl gets the guy. What kind of dysfunctional wedding would that be appropriate for?
