I need everyones help. Every year theres a music festival held locally, and its a big deal. There are many different categories for singing (classical, folk, Musical Theatre, etc) My friend and I sang "How Could You Believe Me When I Said I Loved you" from Royal Wedding for the Musical Theatre class last year and we came in #1 and we won this scholarship and everything for it. This year we want a really kick ass musical theatre duet to blow this judge away, but I need some help in finding some Boy-Girl Comedic duets. Preferably not ones that are used 24/7. If you people could throw some ideas at me that would be great!
If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.
Therapy - tick, tick...BOOM! Love From A Heart of Gold - H2$ Lovely - A Funny Thing...Forum It Couldn't Please Me More - Cabaret I Remember It Well - Gigi Follow Your Heart - Urinetown Mooning - Grease You Must Meet My Wife - A Little Night Music No Life - Sunday In The Park With George
"We're Gonna Be Alright" from DO I HEAR A WALTZ? is a top class male/female comic duet. Others well worth considering are:
"He And She" from THE BOYS FROM SYRACUSE "The Heart Is Quicker Than The Eye" from ON YOUR TOES "Barcelona" from COMPANY "I Wish I Were In Love Again" from BABES IN ARMS "Anything You Can Do" from ANNIE, GET YOUR GUN

You might want to consider changing the parts around, like having the girl sing the boy part and vise versa. "Do you love me?" from Fiddler on the Roof might be good.
"A Little Priest" from Sweeney Todd. I can't believe no one's said this.
"The stage is where I live and come alive and act out all the things that go on in my life. It's not just what I do for a living, it's my shrink and my love affair. No one in my life has ever or ever will kiss me on the mouth like this lover called my relationship with my performance."
"The Tennis Song" from City of Angels is worth consideration. "You're Nothing without Me" from that show might also work with some adaptation since it's not boy/girl in the context of the show.
I too agree with Elphie's and Billy's suggestion. You can't go wrong with "Anything you can do (I can do better)". That was the first that came to my mind when I read your post. Another suggestion could be "Timeless to Me" from Hairspray, if you can persuade your partner to dress in drag and you dress up as a guy !
I agree - "A Little Priest" is the best comic duet from any musical. I'm not so sure it's suitable as a "Boy/Girl" duet though - possibly needs older performers. But, I guess it depends on how good the performers are! So, if you have the confidence to do it - go for it!

"Everything I Got (Belongs To You)" from By Jupiter is a great one that I've never ever heard anyone use. (although, it's not exactly the most widely known show....). If you've never heard that one, PM me and we can try to fix that. ~Sarah, always pimpin' By Jupiter (and no, no involvement whatsoever. before my time, I just love the show)
Hey, what about BAT BOY's "Inside Your Heart?" It's the only love duet I know during which you must you tap your vein, junkie-style. And it's a damned catchy tune, too.
"I'm a comedian, but in my spare time, things bother me." Garry Shandling
Dog Versus You - Lucky Stiff Nice - Lucky Stiff Funny: Duck Joke - My Favorite Year (not necessarily boy/girl, but it doesn't matter, cute song) Take a Job - Do Re Mi I've Got it All - On the Twentieth Century (my personal favorite choice)
"What can you expect from a bunch of seitan worshippers?" - Reginald Tresilian
Well...depending on your voice type, you could do 'Oh Happy We' from Candide.
But one of my all time faves that can make an audience fall in love with you is 'What Could Be Better Than That?' from BABY. It's really a musical scene...if that's ok.
"I'm so looking forward to a time when all the Reagan Democrats are dead."
The only problem I find with Anything You Can Do is that EVERYONE uses that duet every year. Because its such an awesome duet, every year I see at least 4 people do this, and its been butchered so horribly . But however Thank you everyone for your ideas, I will be looking into all of them :)
