I know WEST SIDE STORY is announcing a production but it still seems iffy to me.

The two biggies are:
BILLY ELLIOT and EQUUS
The days of London tranfers are back.

Oh, and there was that Playbill article about a "Broadway-bound" Dirty Dancing but I highly doubt that would reach the Main Stem this season, if and when it finally gets here.

Is 9 to 5 officially going to Broadway? If so, what theater do you think it will be at?

9 to 5 is offically going to be on Broadway this season. However, we don't know the theatre yet. From what I heard they wanted the Hirschfeld but Two Cities beat them to it. Interestingly enough. Two cities wanted the Marquis but they couldn't take it because Drowsy was there then cry Baby.

Accent on Youth is a play revival.

Begin at the beginning and go on till you come to the end: then stop.

Is 'Merrily We Roll Along' 2009-2010? Damn, I'm not going to have a Sondheim revival to root for at the various awards ceremonies next year. re: BROADWAY SEASON 2008-09 Line-Up So-Far Guess I'll be cheering for 'West Side Story' then! ^_^

Is WHITE CHRISTMAS at the Marquis considered a new musical, or a theatrical event, like THE GRINCH? I saw it in L.A. and it was great!

And since that is limited, maybe 9 TO 5 could squeeze in there.

Theatres for Musicals:
MUSICALS
[title of show]-Lyceum
9 to 5
13-Bernard Jacobs
A Tale of Two Cities-Hirschfeld
Billy Elliot-Imperial
Nice Work If You Can Get It
Shrek-Broadway

I'm so excited for Billy Eliot and [Title Of Show]! I'm also interested to see what Shrek will be like. This season is looking pretty good.

Farraghut North will be part of the Atlantic Theatre Company's season, so, not on Broadway.

Anybody heard anything about casting for Speed The Plow? I know they have Jeremy Piven set to play Bobby Gould, but what about the other parts?

"Ace" DC/Arlington's Signature Theatre tags it as "Broadway Bound" in the 08/09 season guide.

This seems like substantially more musicals than last season.

Last season we had 4 revivals and 7 new musicals(ITH,X,CB,PS,YF,ACA,GD). It looks like 5 revivals and 11 new ones.

Or do most seasons look like they'll have a lot at this point in the year, then for various reasons less open?
