It's going to be a very small tour. A stop in Chicago has already been confirmed. I'm guessing that it will kick off there. I would not be surpsised if Anthony Rapp revisited his old role for the tour.

Can anyone else see Peter Jacobson ("House MD's" Dr. Wilson) as a great Dan? He's the one I see in my head when I hear J. Robert Spencer, who sounds a lot like Wilson does.
It is Robert Sean Leonard that plays Dr. Wilson on House. And he is a best featured actor Tony winner (nominated three times) for The Invention of Love. I have no clue if he can sing, though... Updated On: 7/2/09 at 10:40 PM
Didn't he replace Harold Hill in the most recent Music Man revival? I think I remember reading something about him talking shortly after 9/11 while being in that show.
Harold Hill isn't exactly known as a role for a singer.
"If this is going to be a Christian nation that doesn't help the poor, either we have to pretend that Jesus was just as selfish as we are, or we've got to acknowledge that He commanded us to love the poor and serve the needy without condition and then admit that we just don't want to do it." -Stephen Colbert
^^Ah, I do remember Harold Hill, but you're right about it not being known as a "singing" part...a quick search on the site I can't mention bought up a video of him in the Music Man. I find it hard to tell if he could sing N2N's score...
I actually saw him in Music Man. Can't remember anything about his singing.

Anthony Rapp is also a producer of the show. I really don't see him coming back for the Dr.'s, though, since the part is now such a supporting role. I'd love to see any of the OBC continue with the tour...or Sherie Renee Scott for Diana. Someone in another thread suggested Michael C. Hall for Dan...although it'd never ever happen I think that would be fantastic!
I could be the only one who thinks this, but I think Sherie Renee Scott would be a horrible Diana.

The Cutting Room workshop came first, with Sherie as Diana and Norbert Leo Butz as Dan.
The 2005 NYMF cast featured Amy Spanger as Diana, Joe Cassidy as Dan, Anthony Rapp as Dr. Madden/Dr Fine, Benjamin Schrader as Gabe/Tweak(an earlier incarnation of the character that became Henry), and Annaleigh Ashford as Natalie.

They had the same actor playing the brother AND the boyfriend?

I would give an arm and a leg to see Sherie revisit this role, but it will never happen.

I received an email from Broadway Across America (in charge of bringing the touring shows to cities)and it asked me to fill out a survey and I had to select which musicals I'd definitely go see/not see etc., and Next to Normal was an option. I know that doesn't mean it's necessarily an option to come to my city, and that particular venue is way too large (in my opinion) but I was excited to see it even listed.
I took that survey as well. 9 to 5, ROA, and Billy Elliot were also on the list. 9 to 5 and ROA have already been confirmed, but Billy Elliot hasn't. I'm not quite sure if that 'confirms' it though.
