Is anyone going to see the ONE AND ONLY preformance of the 'Adults Only' Spelling Bee?
Supposedly its because of one actors ad libs which wern't appropriate for the younger audiences, and they said this is going to be probobly the ONLY time this is done!
The pre-pubescent mavens of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee will spell words slightly racier than "crepuscule" on Sunday, October 2nd at 7:30 PM.
i would love to see this but i am in boston at school. if i was at home i would be there in a second.
"At the opening night party, they had clowns on stilts, jugglers, a chocolate fountain, popcorn, hot dogs. [My son] looked at me like I had been holding back. Like, 'This is what you do?' I had to tell him, 'No, no, darling. Opening nights don't usually look like this.' It's usually a dark bar with a bottle of vodka." ?Chitty Chitty Bang Bang's Jan Maxwell

ZippyJen-I'm in the exact same situation. So I guess we can be disappointed together.
"College is the best time of your life. When else are your parents going to spend several thousand dollars a year just for you to go to a strange town and get drunk every night?" ~David Wood
I have my tix. I'm just wondering if the adult material will extend to new interpretation of Magic Foot, MUE, Sarah's imrov among others. It should be a night to remember and since this show has it's origins in improv I think there may be a lot of unscripted Pandemonium.....
I just saw the show for the first time this evening and I'm not a fan of it. It's a "cute" little show, but it just doesn't seem right for a Broadway stage. But I'd be lying if I said it wasn't enjoyable.
I got my tickets! The box office asked me if I was an adult, which I find funny, because I'm 26. And I look 26. It should be a great show. Updated On: 9/9/05 at 01:42 PM
I think it's so funny that they are proofing people for this performance. Who would have imagined that people would consider fake ID's at a Spelling Bee! I love it. I think it will be one outrageous experience
