I'm sorry you had to miss Adam, but you have three more months to see him!
I'm also really glad that you got to see Cheyenne...I think he's just majestic in that role. I enjoyed his Radames as much (if not more!) than Adam's, but in very different ways, since they're two very different guys--both vocally and physically.
the amneris standby is Jessica Hendy. She was pretty good. I liked mandy gonzalez better though. But Jessica is such a sweetheart. I met her after the show.
"[My son]'s really into my music, but one day we were listening to Billy [Joel] in the car and he said, 'Daddy, I think Billy's songs are a little better than yours." (Michael Cavanaugh)
They're aiming for Fall of 2006 with Tarzan, I think. I'm assuming that since it's still in its early stages that it's kind of up in the air whether or not Adam will even stick with it. If I remember I'll ask him next time I see him. I've been meaning to find out what's up for him after Aida, but I tend to get that "OHMYGOD it's ADAM PASCAL!" headrush and get really quiet.
Oh, and a general FYI, playbill.com just released a discount offer good through August 1. Now I can buy my tickets and not be totally broke! yay!!!
well now i feel better, i always sound horrible when i try to sing the end of "enchantment passing through"- but if adam has trouble then how could i even attempt!
nystateomind, the "Will forget" line? hah. I will NOT be a happy camper if after four and a half years I go back and Adam doesn't hit that note. I wonder if he's even hit it yet since he started back... most of the reports I've heard say no.
But yay!! I'm going to order tickets later for Wicked_Elphie and myself later, I think. weeeeeeeeee!
i do know how he feels, there was always one part in little shop that i'd always mess up and everyone in the wings would listen closely to see if i would get it right then cringe when i didn't. it was at the end of "suddenly seymour" when seymour goes "yes you CAN!", and i could always do it in rehersal, but never on stage.
oh well, back to the regularly scheduled adam talk
awww, it's ok! I'm sure they love you anyway, just like I love Adam even if he doesn't hit his high notes. I just FINALLY heard him sing "Pity the Child" from Chess. It's ridiculous... when he does hit those notes, I don't know how he does it. Yay Adam!
yes, pity the child is just awesome. Emcee send me the thing for the discount i think ill be ordering them tonight since the box office was closed by the time i got there on monday.
Though scattered and divided we are still its heart...AIDA SEPTEMBER 5th, 2004...one more longing backward glance...
I AM NOW "TGIF!"
I don't know if I've already said this, but I kind of hope Adam doesn't do Tarzan. It sounds a little corny. And if you have an mp3 of "pity the child", please email me. Thanks.
ETA-what is the note that he always cracks on? The name, I mean. (A,B,C, ect.)

I have just purchased tickets to see Adam Pascal in Aida. Since I have never seen him perform live I am way excited, especially after reading what everyone has posted. I really hope to meet him because I am a huge fan!!! As a newcomer to the whole Broadway scene what is the best way to get his autograph? I would appreciate anyone's knowledge and advise. Thanks.
wait outside the stage door after the show. When he comes out, shriek, scream, fan yourself like crazy, and when he signs, shriek some more, jump up and down, and then faint.
And don't be like me. I get really nervous/shy/quiet when I meet people. I always want to compliment them and tell them how wonderful they are, but I can never say what I want to and then I regret it. Good luck!! He's very sweet.
key thing to remember -- actors are people too... some of them may be gifts from God and the most beautiful thing you've ever seen (insert ceratain actors who shall remain nameless), but still, above all, people
