The thing is, I never saw the show, so I would have ended up buying the full album anyway (because that's what I do), but it's one of the few times I would have bought a highlights album (especially pre-digital music like we have today) so I could just listen to the songs I like. Now it doesn't matter as much - I can just cut the score however I please and play it in itunes.

I just got the remastered version of this CD last week, after giving my old copy to a friend when I found out the remastered version was released in America. And yes, I agree that the sound quality is much better. I had to listen to the original recording at full volume through my headphones in orher to hear it properly. Not, that is not a problem.

Another improvement is the text size. The original version's text was so small that you needed reading glasses to read it. My friend had to borrow glasses to read the text at first. I hope she is enjoyig it. I let her listen to "There is More to LOve" and she thought it was awesome.

I gave her my old copy because A) I saw the remastered version in Virgin Megastore and vowed that the next time I was there, I would buy it, and B) she says that she loves ALW, and she's only listened to POTO. I am hoping she will branch out into more of Webber's work by this recording.

Sorry for bumping this thread, but I had to add my thoughts.

"There Is More to Love" --

Whatever happened to Kathleen Rowe McAllen? She sang this song and "Hand Me the Wine and the Dice" very well - and if I remember right, she was actually a TONY nominee for the role.

There is really some excellent singing from the major principals in this album!
