Jay Lerner-Z said: "I’m not wrong.
The President of the United States asked FIFA to overturn the decision.
That in itself is very wrong.
Naturally FIFA complied, the first time since 1962 a decision has been reversed in the tournament.
I hope Belgium win, as unpatriotic as that may be."
The call was very questionable by majority of soccer experts (American player stepped on opposing players ankle without intent to harm). Argentine star Lionel Messi did basically the same thing in a game and received no penalty. Is that because he is a superstar, I believe so. Trump called supposedly to get better understanding of the ruling and ask for a review. I think we all agree he should not intervene in this situation or any other one in World Cup. FIFA should have a backbone and tell him suspension stands if they truly believe the ruling on the field was correct.
So go ahead and root for Belgium. Personally, I think it is unfair of you to take this out on the players on the field who have no control of the situation. I am no soccer expert, but I believe the US was favored in this match, we will see.
Finally, it is kind of funny Jay. When I posted positive things about visitors to this country liking America, not a word from you. The minute something negative happens regarding US and or Trump, you immediately show up and post. It is almost like you are lurking in the background hoping for something bad to occur. Oh well, enjoy rooting for Belgium.
