From the Teamsters Release Presidential Endorsement Polling Data"
"Following the Republican National Convention and Biden’s campaign exit, the Teamsters commissioned a national electronic poll of its 1.3 million members, overseen by an independent third party. During a voting window from July 24-Sept. 15, rank-and-file Teamsters voted 59.6 percent for the union to endorse Trump, compared to 34 percent for Harris. "
The Teamsters leadership have decided they are not backing Harris. Interesting. Some Democrats are disappointed in the Teamsters leadership because they did not override the majority of their members and back Harris anyway. Some have gone so far as to imply the Teamsters "owed" Democrats the endorsement. Wow, I'm a bit caught off guard with such transparency.
Actually, the leadership DID override their members by not backing Trump. Is the disappointment of the Teamsters leadership not a peculiar sentiment given "representing the people" is a foundation of Democracy? Is believing the Democrats are owed the endorsement not also in conflict with (honest) Democracy? What Democrats are unhappy with is a majority of rank-and-file members, but they don't have the courage or decency to be THAT transparent and call them out. So they put the onus on the leadership instead.
Would those who have been vocal here say that some ~60% of rank-and-file union members are stupid or scum, if not deserving to be shot in the skull?

I would say that they have fallen for the age-old con that the Democrats are the “elite”, and that the GOP are “blue collar”.
The exact opposite is true. They are voting AGAINST their own interests by supporting Trump!
Sad.
