re: The Official 'Bad High School Productions on YouTube' Megathread
 Oct 13 2010, 10:44:09 PM
I think I just found a goldmine... It's not a high school production, but I'm pretty sure it's a high schooler singing some broadway stuff... Wow, just wow. My favorites are probably Poor Unfortunate Souls and One Song Glory. Literally no words can describe it.

This is kinda off-topic but I've always wanted to know, what exactly is the difference between a preview and the actually show? Are the ticket sales limited or do they only do like half of the show? Sorry for my ignorance. XD
re: Would 'Songs for a New World' work with a larger cast?
 Oct 21 2009, 04:25:05 PM
I just saw Songs recently that had 5 people, 2 girls and 3 guys, and I thought it worked wonderfully!
re: 10 Musicals
 Sep 6 2009, 05:33:24 PM
List your top ten favorite musicals, and have a whack at the following assorted questions! )

1. Next to Normal
2. Jekyll and Hyde
3. Les Miserables
4. Songs for a New World
5. Rent
6. Sweeney Todd
7. Into the Woods
8. Godspell
9. The Lion King
10. Wicked

How did you hear about 7?
The first time i heard about it was when the JCCC was going to do it.

Would 4 make a good movie?
I don't think so... It would be really short and theres no real continuos "plot"

What's your favorite song from 10?
Defying Gravity! When ever I listen that song it makes me want to sing it... but not in the original octave mind you!

Who's your favorite actor from the original cast (Broadway, London) of number 3?
Im pretty sure he was in the origial London cast but Colm Wilkenson. At the end of bring him home, that high A, its AMAZING!

How many times have you seen 9?
Once, BUT i was in the third row, so that counts as 3 times XD

Who's your favorite character from 2?
Jekyll/Hyde... would that be 2 characters?

What sort of merchandise do you have from 5?
Original Broadway cast recording, Movie recording, Coffee table book thingy, Rent poster from when it came to Starlight, Programs from the 2 times ive seen it and Final B'way cast movie

Is 8 by your favorite composer/lyricist?
One of my favorites, but no not my favorite.

Do you have a recording of every musical written by 1's composer?
Since its only one, yes i do

Could you recite all of the lyrics and dialogue from 6 by memory?
Acually no...

The first musical you ever saw live (or that you at least remember)?
Well i saw barney the musical at the music hall when i was 4

The first musical you saw on Broadway?
The Producers

The first musical you saw off-Broadway?
None

When i saw the movie rent, i was like I WANNA DO THAT!!! ( except the aids part :O)

Your favorite composer?
Jason Robert Brown or (very cliche) Sondheim :P

Your favorite musical from your favorite composer?
Songs for a New World

The musical with your favorite choreography?
I'd say the Lion King

Ever left a musical at intermission?
Nope, and i hope i never see a show where i have too.

Your all-time favorite song?
Really? One song? Well right now at least its probably Opening: Songs for a New World. I could listen to that over and over and over and over again

Your all-time favorite lyric?
We need some light/ First of all we need some light/ You cant sit here in the dark and all alone, its a sorry sight/ Its just you and me/ We'll live, you'll see.
(Next to Normal)

Your all-time favorite line of dialogue?
Sammie - The bitch ain't comin' (Wedding Singer)

Are you one of those people who leave in the middle of a curtain call?
NO!!!! I HATE it when people do that! It's so rude that when you finally get the chance to thank the actors, you just LEAVE?!!?!? NEVER DO IT when your with me... EVER

You're given a chance to go back in time. The only catch is that all you can do is see a musical - any time, any where, any cast. As long as it actually happened.
Les Miserables - Original London Cast - Please.

How do you feel about the more recent trend of turning popular movies into musicals? (Ex: Shrek, Legally Blonde, Lion King, etc)
I love them as long as they dont bring new people that are like OH AM GEE I NOW SO MUC ABOT BRODWAYY!! WICKED IS SOOO GOOD!!! IDENA MEXNZEL IS BEST BRODWAY HAS EVA SEEEEENNN!!!!!! So none of that please

Your opinion on jukebox musicals?
HATE THEM.

Your favorite performance from this year's Tonys?

re: Demi Lovato visited Wicked this evening (8.8.09)
 Aug 9 2009, 05:24:02 PM
I saw Nicole and Keith at Next to Normal too! During intermission my dad was like that women looks a lot like Nicole Kidman! Little did he know that it was Nicole Kidman.
Why does nobody like Wildhorn?
 Aug 6 2009, 03:41:31 PM
Its true that I have only listened to Jekyll and Hyde, but is Wildhorn really that bad? From what iv'e read and heard about him, it seems the whole world is against him. So is everything else he did awfully horrible or what?
