re: Moments in Shows that Made You Cry When You First Saw It
 Aug 14 2009, 01:42:15 AM
The only time I think I actually cried was when Angel died in RENT, followed by "I'll Cover You (Reprise)". But I also got teary eyed/feeling a strong emotion during:
-Alabanza, Everything I Know and the Finale from In The Heights. Especially Alabanza. It just tugs at my heart strings.
-A lot of scenes from West Side Story. Especially "Somewhere", "A Boy Like That/I Have A Love" and during and after Tonys death.
-Who I'd Be and Big Bright Beautiful World (reprise) from Shrek: The Mus

Little White Lies is amazing, and quite professional. Love it. :3

I too think the actors are incredibly talented. They all did a wonderful job, singing and acting.

Adore this musical to pieces. Me and my friend quote/sing it nonstop. And it didn't help that soon after we watched the musical we went to see the newest Harry Potter movie. Good times. xD

Omigosh. I may actually be able to see this if it runs through next spring/summer! I would love to see it, because I hear its amazing. Which reminds me that I need to get the OBCR.

Yaaaay!

I watched the commercial and heard some of the songs... OMG. How amazingly horrible is this musical?

If you can, find and listen to "It Will All Be Mine" and "Misty's Song". You must.

...Justin Timberlake?

...

REALLY?

Seriously, Guys and Dolls is one of my favourite musicals of all time. WHY. DO. THIS?!

Hmm, I haven't heard anything about a Guys and Dolls remake. When was this announced?

Oh my gosh, the Harry Potter musical is hilarious.
re: Shrek the Musical's Appeal

I was skeptical when I heard some of the people's negative comments about it on here, but when I listened to the music I got hooked. As many said, it's not the best theatre out there, but it is fun and enjoyable to listen to. I for one would love to see the show, especially with the original cast. I will die if I can't see it with Brian as Shrek.
re: The Official 'Bad High School Productions on YouTube' Megathread

I think I might upload some stuff from my highschool production of Footloose. It truly wasn't good. Only a few people could act/sing (me hopefully being one of them since I did sing "Still Rockin'"), the choreography was horendous, the staging was ick, the band wasn't good...

But it was fun to be in! That was the plus in it all! XD

EDIT: That Sweeney Todd production was actually very good.

I forgot about Aaron Tviet! Just from the Tonys he gets a spot on my list. He is gorgeous and I adore his voice. <33 *makes plan to buy the Next to Normal album*

That's HILARIOUS. Just, wow. This sort of stuff would make the Tonys more interesting to watch on tv.

The lead from Hair was very hot (Gavin was his name, right?) and Matt Carvagh-however you spell his last name).
Neil Patrick Harris (UGHWHYDOESHEHAVETOBEGAY?;-
John Tartagila (same as above ;-
Hugh Jackman
Brian D'arcy James a little.

I know this is going to sound odd but I think Gene Kelly was very handsome in the fifties. Watching him in Singin' In The Rain makes me smile. :3

re: RAGTIME headed to Broadway!!!
 Jun 13 2009, 12:49:29 PM
Looks like I'll be going to New York around August. <3 I'vw wanted to see Ragtime for awhile now, so this is very exciting and I just HOPE I can go on the New York City trip I'm planning.
re: Musical-Writing Contest
 Jun 11 2009, 11:25:46 AM
I would be very interested in doing this. :3 My only problem is with coming up with a good idea... *sighs* Oh, and is it ok if some people have other people helping them create it? I've actually been a part of quite a few fan made musicals developement and I find if more than one person works on it more work is done, more creative and amazing ideas are created and etc. But if it's just a one person thing I understand.

As much as I should be feeling bad for him...

And how much I realized it must have hurt...

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA!

This is hilarious.

Fantastic, fantastic, fantastic, FANTASIC.

God, I love NPH. The only thing is there wasn't enough of him... and sometimes he seemed a bit bored (but maybe that's just me). But whenever he used his awesome humour I was happy. And the closing song was epic beyond belief.

NPH, get your butt back on Broadway. NOW.

re: It's very clear that NEXT TO NORMAL is the show people are talking abou

It certainly made me interested. If I can go to NY this summer like I'm planning, this is on my list of shows to see.
re: Grade the 63rd Annual Tony telecast performances!

Opening Number: A (got me excited!)
Next To Normal: A (despite sound problems I really enjoyed it. Made me intrigged to hear more of its music/see the show)
Guys and Dolls: C (hated Tittus's vocals. A lot. It passes because of the epicness of the song in general and Mary Testa.)
Shrek: C+ (it was performed much better before. And beginning technical problems made me angry. I still love the song however)
Hair: A+ (they really know how to put on a show! Now I really want to see thi

A Billy Sweep? WHAT A SURPRISE!

I overall enjoyed the show. I liked last years tonys better, personally, of course I've only seen two Tony Awards in my life, so maybe I don't have much of a opinion... hearing the words 'Billy Elliot' over and over grated me like no other though. And I think Christopher Sieber deserved the Featured Actor Tony.

I agree, there wasn't enough NPH. I love him to death and I wish I saw him more. The ending number made his presence there awesome, thoug
