Could a Kismet revival work? Jun 4

Encores did a good production several years back with Brian Stokes Mitchell and (I think) Marin Mazzie. Considering the costs involved (sets and costumes are staggering),and the dated book, I doubt that a full-scaled production would be financially viable in today's economy. PS. I love the show, which is an indicator of what generation I come from.

Hamilton will remain on $10 Bill Apr 17
2016, 12:32:39 AM
As far as I'm concerned, removing Andrew Jackson from the $20.00 bill is way overdue. His stance on the Indian population is totally indefensible and runs counter to the principles upon which our nation was created. Shame on America for keeping him there as long as it has. I don't care how many battles he won, he was totally despicable.

My Choice for Joe Gillis: Cheyenne Jackson. He's gorgeous and smarmy enough.

The Children's Hour Apr 4

I've never seen a live performance of The Children's Hour and would be most interested in seeing a well-cast version. One thing that struck me on reading it, though, was there seems to be a disconnect between the focus of third act and those of the two that preceded it. The first two acts concentrate on The Lie and its devastating effects on everyone involved; the third shifts gears, IMO, to the vagaries of Martha's sexuality. Neither are unworthy

Josh Groban to star in The Great Comet of 1812 on Broadway in September Mar 29

I loved this show when it was playing Off-Broadway and could see it going into a smaller Broadway house. But the Imperial? Something will be lost in that barn, pretty though it is. Part of the charm of the Off-Broadway house was that it allowed for interplay between the audience and the cast. Still hoping it all the best, because IMO, it was a great piece of theatre.

Audra's Choice Mar 27
2016, 11:25:29 PM
In her interview, Audra McDonald stated she would like to do more Shakespeare and mentioned the possibility of Lady Macbeth. I love Audra, but my suggestion would be Cleopatra -- you can't ask for a juicier role than that and I'm sure that Audra, under proper direction, could act the pants off it. Any comments?

The Father Previews Mar 27

I may be all wet on this, but didn't Langella do The Father sometime during the past 15 years or so at the Roundabout? Just asking.
