re: Songs That Sound Suspiciously Similar Jan 5

"Nothing Like the Brain" from Young Frankenstein and "Shy" from Once Upon a Mattress. I heard the YF overture on Sirius and actually thought it was Mattress. Also, while I was willing Billy Elliott to be over, there is some song toward the end that sounds like "I Dreamed a Dream". Sorry, don't know which song from BE, but as I heard it, in my head I sang "but the tigers come at night."

I was just wondering about this, too. I enjoyed the show and would love to hear the music again! Thanks for the update.

Is it really too much to ask to hear Patrick SING again?!? Not that I won't go see it. I so love him.

We were just discussing this last week when we were in New York. That's exactly what it looks like.

Testing, we were there last night. Their laughing was one of the best parts. Mary McCormack was wonderful. I'm so glad we got to see the show!

Glory Days or Saved Apr 1
2008, 06:23:51 PM
I need a little advice. We're going to be in New York in May, and we have to choose between seeing Glory Days or Saved. Any opinions on the two shows? If we see Saved, what are the chances that Glory Days would still be around this fall for our next trip? Thanks!

re: THE 39 STEPS... Hitchcock love necessary? Feb 22

I have very little Hitchcock knowledge, other than things made so famous you can't help but know about them. Even so, I thoroughly enjoyed the play. It's extremely entertaining and so much fun.

re: I Am Mystified By the Success of MAMMA MIA! Jan 16
2008, 12:03:28 PM
I saw it once because it was the only Sunday night show available at the time. It was entertaining, but I, too, don't understand its longevity. I'd love for a new show to have a chance at that theatre, although Mamma Mia will probably outlive all of us.

Thanks so much for the heads-up! We already had tickets for South Pacific, but I'm sure it will be of much use for years to come.

It's the photo on the Friends & Family discount card for this weekend. Strangely enough, we'd already used the card twice and hadn't noticed the picture at all! It even says "The Broadway Cast of Spring Awakening." Doesn't speak well for my attention to detail.
