re: Movie Musicals being planned

I disagree ray-andallthatjazz86, look at Nikki Blonsky, ok, so she never played the role before, but she was new and fresh amongst all these big names. i personally think she soured way above anyone else in that movie. I just think having to many big names in a musical movie takes away the essense of that movie. So what if it penalises your audience. Musical theatre doesn't appeal to everyone anyway, so let the REAL professionals do the work whilst the stars do what they do. another thing i hear

i heard Cabaret was being remade? i think Burton would do wonders to the remake of this film. especially if they do it anything like the new london production. but as for ITW, i think he should leave it alone also!
Going onto Wicked, Adam Garcia was in the original london cast playing Fiyero (and did a pretty crappy job at it!) i wouldn't be suprised if he gets cast to be honest. and as for Elphaba, why not get Kerry Ellis or Julia Murney or someone thats actually played Elphaba? i think to

So much for Spring Awakening not closing! January 18th! this seems to be a re-accuring date for Broadway closure? could 18 be the new number of the devil?

I'm just keeping my fingers crossed for 13 and Gypsy still being open. ooh and Shrek, i need to meet Brian D'arcy James, he's my god!

I've brought the trip closer now to Feb 19th.

I think all of them. I'm flying over to the Big Apple in February for the first time and was soooooooooo looking forward to seeing Spring Awakening, Xanadu, Legally etc, as they are some of my favourite shows. But i've booked my ticket for the london version of SA and cannot wait for Legally to open in UK, and Xanadu. But seriously, are there going to be any musicals left in February!?
Broadway closures!

I'm coming over to NY next March and have heard so much gossip about all these different shows closing. I'm just wondering whether anyone can confirm the closures of shows for definate so i don't get my hopes up with seeing them. And if anyone one knows of the shows that are filling the boots of the closing shows, that'll be very helpful!!! Ta.

P.S please tell me Spring Awakening isn't closing and that its all a lie i heard?!!?
