re: N2N cast signing Barnes and Nobel 5/12
 May 12 2009, 07:24:13 PM
The signing was great! I don't have any videos to post from YouTube, but the songs that were performed were "I've Been", "I'm Alive", and "Superboy and the Invisible Girl", all of which were fantastic. (Someone I went with who has basically never been exposed to songs from the show LOVED all of them, which made me so happy.) It was pretty much packed; I was in the second row. :)

I was at today's matinee, too - second time seeing the show, fourth row, center. It was a fantastic view and a fantastic show. I don't think there are enough positive things to say about the show and performances.

I ordered my tickets from TDF and I think my tickets were in either row M or N in the orchestra; I can't remember off the top of my head, though.

I saw the show last night and it was an absolutely FANTASTIC experience. Loved it so much.

I totally agree that it's the best new musical of the season and the performances were just... amazing. Alice for the Tony, without a doubt!

I'm definitely planning on seeing it again in the extremely near future.

Oh my God is basically all I can say right now. Plus a few dozen exclamation points.

YES.

re: Now that SPRING AWAKENING has closed, does anyone still miss GYPSY?
 Jan 20 2009, 04:46:01 PM
Yes, I genuinely miss Gypsy. The five times I saw the show were such fantastic experiences for me that I'm so happy to have had.

And yeah, the cast recording has definitely been playing repeatedly.

re: Review- Final Performance of Gypsy

Being a part of the audience for the final performance really was so incredible for me. Although I'm so sad to see it go, I'm grateful for the five times I got to see it.
re: How old were you when you discovered Sondheim?
 Jan 12 2009, 06:38:47 PM
I think I was twelve; starting with Sweeney Todd, and then Gypsy.

re: What Broadway-Related Names Would You Give Your Children?
 Jan 3 2009, 11:01:26 PM
The names I would consider are:

Girls:
Anne
Louise
Laura
Johanna
Rose
Clara
Claudia (probably not, though)

Boys:
Stephen
Ben

Eh, I should probably work on that list. Especially the boys.

re: Who is going to the final performance of (insert show here}

Gypsy on the 11th, and I'll miss that the most. I'll also miss Hairspray; it's not one of my favorites, but it was really so enjoyable. I don't have an actual interest in any of the other shows closing, but sorry to all the people who loved them.

re: Les Mis, the movie - confirmed by Schöenberg

I'm completely in agreement with Kate Winslet for Fantine.

And the fact that not all Disney stars are completely talentless. They're not particularly great; but I don't think it's entirely fair to label them all as phony and lacking talent just because of the people who do come from Disney that definitely are. But if they cast certain starlets in this movie whenever it does come out, I'll probably prove myself to be totally hypocritical.

I'll be all over this movie when it ev

I guess I could've seen this coming, although I'm so, so upset. I got my tickets for Jan. 11th last night.

re: What Musical Theatre Song Is Your Top Played on iTunes?
 Dec 12 2008, 04:17:51 PM
My play counts for these songs are slightly surprising and slightly ridiculous. There's a tie between:

01. Some People - Patti LuPone, Gypsy
02. Ever After - Original Broadway Cast, Into the Woods
03. Unusual Way - Laura Benanti, Nine
04. I Miss the Mountains - Alice Ripley, Next to Normal
05. Around the World - Christine Ebersole, Grey Gardens

re: holy eff this song is AMAZING!

I've become so obsessed with "Johanna [Quartet]" from Sweeney Todd and "Getting Tall" from Nine.
