I want Beatrice Arthur to play me. We are both tall, Jewish, having graying hair and are loud and brassy. We also played Yente in Fiddler.

re: Movies that should NEVER be turned into Broadway musicals Aug 2

There are two movies that I just don't think would make it on Broadway. The first is Jaws. Can you just see the opening number with the chorus dressed in swimsuits singing Foot Foot Footsie.......Goodbye. Now the other one the other one is MArch Of The Penguins. Something tells me that all these penguins would be running all over the theater.

I have always been heavy and have played roles where I was the " older" woman type. I doubt that I will ever play Peter in Peter Pan. But the roles I have had are Vera Charles in Mame, Aunt Eller in Oklahoma, Yente in Fiddler On The Roof. In fact, when I was a kindergarten I played an old women who churned butter in a boot! I guess I have always played larger older women. The igenue role is not for me.

Ok, here is my family's claim to fame. My cousin Judy played MAme in High School and wore a dress that Rosalind Russell wore in that show. It was an evening gown.

re: Carousel - a discussion Jul 27

I think the stage production of Carousel was way ahead of its time. To think that peoplewere actually going to deal with the topics of suicide and physical abuse at that time were basically unheard of. Musicals were all boy meets girl and they fall in love. The film however, made it into a fluff piece and it lost it's meaning. As a survivot of physical abuse and suicide attempts......I say that this should never be taken lightly.

I think there is one Momma Rose and one only and that is Ethel Merman. That role was for her! It is like no one else but Yul Brynner will ever be the king in the King and I.

re: ROBERT GOULET Jun 28

I met Robert Goulet a few years ago when he did South Pacific at Westbury Music Fair. He played Emile DeBeque and looked so tall and impressive on stage. I thought his voice was magnificent. When I was a child I used to listen to my parent's Camelot OBC album. After the show I went to the parling lot and met him. He was very simple yet charming man. However, he did not appear as tall as he did on stage. Perhaps he wears lifts?

Ilive in Hartford and I heard that tickets are going fast on this one. Especially group discounts. I have always been a fan of anything at the Bushnell. But this time, I may not go. Too much sensationalism with this one. It almost has a cult-like following.

My dream role would be to play Rose in Gypsy or Dolly in Hello Dolly. I have already played Yenta in Fiddler and Aunbt Eller in Oklahoma!. I guess I am destined to play loud mouth older women.

Dollypop knows what the Music Man is. Hr just forgets things so easily because he is getting so old. Poor guy, his memory is failing.
