re: Anyone going to see Young Frank tonight in RI?

The sets with the exception of the lab and the blind mans house were very simple. Usually just a painted on back drop. I never saw the Broadway show so I don't know what to compare them to.

I'm not surprised to hear that the lab table got stuck. Watching it last night I actually thought to myself "How long till the technical problems start?" There seem to be a lot of "moving" parts in that lab scene and I could see something going wrong at some point.

The line he forgot was right before Puttin' on the Ritz when he is introducing the monster. It had a lot of pseudo-scientific words in it and you could tell that he was struggling for the line for a bit and kept saying "No thats not it..." and finally he called off stage "What is it?". You could hear the stage manager calling back to him and I guess she gave him the wrong line cause he said "No that's too far ahead." It was actually pretty funny at one point he said "Don't expect the monster t

Just got back from the show. The show is nothing more than one continuous penis joke, but I thought the cast was great! Roger Bart blew a line! He actually had to call off stage for the line!

I'm going on Tuesday, but I did drive by the theater today and Jerry Mitchell and some cast memebers were outside behind the theater. I did a complete double take and almost hit the car in front of me!

I'm with Cali, my vote is Laurette Taylor. Her performance in The Glass Menagerie from all accounts is the best there has ever been. I would loved to have seen it!

Seriously....I don't know how any songs from Into the Woods made this list! The OBC was as close to perfection as you can get!
re: Should I go see Legally Blonde in Providence?

If you got tickets to one of the matinees you could take the train in, see the show, grab some food at one of the many great restaurants (Trinity Brewhouse is popular with the local college crowds-great food not too expensive and few blocks from the theater!)and then head back to the train. I am a season ticket holder with PPAC so I will be seeing it on opening night.
re: Why doesn't the playbill have theater etiquette rules?
 Sep 10 2008, 05:15:40 PM
The people who are breaking etiquette are the people who are rolling up the playbills and using them as megaphones to yell at Ariel! It is something that should be said before tickets are purchased and if every theater enforced it everytime it happened it would eventually be under control.
