His voice is terrible... simple
 Dec 18 2004, 02:34:09 AM
I haven't seen the movie yet, but I do have the soundtrack. Am I the only one who thinks that when Gerard Butler sings "Down once more to the dongen of my dark dispair" he sounds just like Arnold in the Terminator. They could've picked someone with a better voice, same goes with Christine. Maybe actually seeing it on screen will be better

I wish I could speak French. What's funny is that I took a semester and a half of French in college, and I only know how to count to ten. Good money put to waste. Not only that, but my last namre is French and no one can ever pronunce it right.

 Nov 20 2004, 01:22:00 AM
Hi,
I was wondering if someone could help me out please. Everyone is talking about having read several different drafts of the Rent Screenplay. I was wondering if those of you that have them could either email them to me, or tell me where I can find them. I would greatly apperciate it. You can email me at laralounichole@cs.com
Thanks in advance,
Lara

Just joined in this thread now, though I should go to bed. It's nice you want to know about us. Well I'm 28 years old living in Louisville, Ky for the time being, working as a waiter at a restraunt. I hope to move to New York within the year to try my hand at broadway, since I was a theater major in college.. Actually it was shows like Rent that made me definetally want to prusue acting and singing. That's about it. Thanks for asking.
I'm going to bed, like I should of hours ago, but I just

I think an American Idol type show for Broadway singers would be an exellent idea. Then there would at least be some real talent. I'm not auditioning for American Idol to be the next Britney, or anything like that, an audition's an audition, and I just thought it would be different and fun to try. But I agree there should be some kind of talent show for us. Didn't VH1 try to have some sort of show like that called Divas? But then that left the guys out.

Thanks for the advice and suggestions everyone. I apperciate it and value your opinions, that's why I asked here. It's just very unfair, as a Broadway/classically trained singer that you can't sing quality songs, or you're considered "too Broadway". I don't know of many pop songs that can show off range like a showtune can. I mean what song is the pop equivilant(sp?) of "Defying Gravity"? I can't think of one. And I can't really see myself singing a Britney, or Christina song, which is basically
American Idol and Broadway Songs

Hi,I'm Lara. I usually just lurk here, but I have a question for all of you, and need your opinion. I'm planning on auditioning for American Idol. I know that the judges sometimes frown upon Broadway, but I know that Frenchie, for example, sang "And I Am Telling You" from Dreamgirls. I want to sing "Defying Gravity" from Wicked. I was also thinking about "Gimme Gimme" from Millie. Now do you all think these songs are appropriate, or a bad idea? Any other song suggestions Broadway or otherwise wo
