And seriously, you start your post by suggesting that Ambrose isn't Jewish enough for Fanny, then you suggest the two most Italian Catholic actresses I can think of for Fanny and Mrs. Brice? That makes so much sense."

Scott would have been great back during that STATE FAIR period.
The guys who are great dancers who can sing and act are Tyler Hanes, Curtis Holbrook, Noah Racey, Matt Loeher and Tony Yazbeck.
My understanding intially was that they were re-thinking the role in more of a Sinatra way...using more of a singer (like Harry Connick)...if that was the way to go, why not just cast the right guy? The idea was intially for Hugh Jackman...wasn't it?

When coming up with names for the twins, they should be in the same ballpark in the height department.
Laura Benanti is like 5'7", Leslie Kritzer is 5'2"...could never be twins.
They also need to compliment each other vocally, and facially.
Just note that they need to be similar in some way.

In Jersey Boys and at his Carnegie Hall performances he was singing pop songs. I saw him at the Broadway unplugged concert where he sang a more legit song, something from Greenwillow. He has a very impressive low register and he really added a lot of depth to his voice. I am excited to hear how he is in Les Mis!

Longoria looks more like Valli? Not to me.
Also, I have seen a few Frankies, no one beats JLY...not vocally, not acting.
I do think Longoria looked and sounded a lot like Joe Pesci, and I loved him in that role. Every time I have seen him as Frankie, I keep thinking, "there's Joe Pesci as Frankie!"
