Cell Phone Hell at Shows for Days Jul 10
2015, 02:58:06 AM
Since I just had a movie experience negatively impacted by an incredibly inconsiderate cell phone user, I'm entirely on Patti LuPone's side on this.
It's bad enough for a comparatively low cost, filmed event like a movie, but for a higher ticket, LIVE event like stage, it's ridiculous.
I'd never consider having my phone on other than vibrate for even a movie and would not respond to it until intermission or post curtain call. I've worked after hours support f

I don't care too much about who the performer is; it sounds as if all have had interesting and well done interpretations of the role.
I'm still trying to figure out the message, though. I get that Hedwig is a victim of a botched MtF surgery and who may have been pressured into the surgery somehow, but I don't get why there wasn't the usual hormone treatment, top surgery first, THEN lower surgery? And corrections ca

/snicker I'm hoping you're not being obtuse and realize that, in that context, a "chink (...in the armor)" is a place where a deadly blow can be dealt.

What's inappropriate about choosing not to lift one's hands up? And if someone is asking them to do so, what's wrong with shaking one's head 'no'? That's not rude. The taking pictures may have been, depending on how it was done; I know people have recorded the entire performance, even.
The can thing was an accident and Criss did apologize profusely for that. I can't see him intentionally harming anyone, ever. He wrote a long note on the can, even.

I feel bad for "The Visit", as well! Great talent there, but the sales aren't showing. Any idea why not?
Really glad for "Finding Neverland" and "Act of God."
How do you know what the production's nut is?

Does anyone know if there has been a mainstream critical review of this show / performer combo? Not just Backlot, but perhaps the NYT? Don't they usually review even guest performers? All I've seen are for NPH or JCM.
I'll be coming in from way out of town and I've loved theatre since I was a kid; been reading this board for a while, but never joined. I'd like to go to a show that's worthwhile. "Act of God" is on my list and room for one more.
