I would say it isn't official til an announcement is made, but there are lots of "congrats" on Chelsea's facebook page.

No - if you do a little research, you'll find that it was Jim Conley. A young boy saw him with Mary's body, but was threatened by him so told no one but his mother. The boy even testified in the trial as a character witness for the prosecution. On his death bed, he signed a paper stating what he had seen. Leo Frank was innocent and later completely pardoned.

How does a question about a BROADWAY national tour not belong on the Broadway message boards? It seems to me that people like to pick fights for no reason....can't we all just get along? :)

I get what you are saying Spork, but you do have to keep in mind that the video you linked was of her performing in a full size theater with no mike. She was probably belting loudly to prove that her voice could fill the space. You should always adjust your singing based on the size of the room you are auditioning in!

Isn't that what belting basically is? shouting on pitch? Patti shouts, Merman shouted, but I still like it :) I'm not a girl though, so I can't get into discussing the difference between belting and mixing in terms of production(I just know what they sound like)....I do agree that mixing tends to be easier on the ears!!

Hmmm SporkGoddess...you must have a strange ear or something, because I always disagree with your vocal opinions (and I was a vocal music major and perform professionally). Bailey's belt was off almost every time on her full performances on the MTV website. While Kate Rockwell I think has a great (and healthy belt)...particularly loved her All By Myself on the Grease show. She certainly has better vocal control/training than Bailey in my opinion: http://www.nbc.com/Grease/video/#cat=new&sec=1a&mea=60124 Oh well - everyone is entitled to his/her own opinion :)

I believe the MD was the assistant MD on the tour, and he also helped with the original Broadway production (he is credited in the program). Wasn't Katie Clarke right out of college when she played the role? Wouldn't that make her too young as well. I thought the point was that she seemed younger (including her appearance)which is why (spoiler) the father gets upset when he sees her real age. Also, in the last song, you can hear someone taking photos which makes me guess this video w

Bailey's acting, singing, and grammar (ESPECIALLY this) on the new single are all terrible....see, we are still talking about the single....hehe (j/k btw)

"People aren't realizing that Bailey is only 20 years old." That's not a good argument. There are plenty of 20 year olds who have been on Broadway and were ready from the day they auditioned. Furthermore, her age (if anything) is another argument against why she shouldn't have been cast. At the start of the show, Elle is graduating from college (22/23 years old) and at the end from Harvard (25/26?). She looks way younger than the rest of the cast (leads and ensemble).

Just watched the full performances from last night on the MTV site....I must say, Bailey's acting (which they cut on the tv show) is very over the top...could definitely see what Jerry meant about schmacting. When she is not saying something or singing, her facial expressions make me feel like I am watching a high school musical. And her belted notes are definitely off pitch.

Piazza: Weston Playhouse video Jul 22

Just stumbled upon a video and reviews for the intimate chamber version of The Light in the Piazza at Weston Playhouse in Vermont. Variety gave it a great review and Adam Guettel was involved in the production. Check out the reviews and video: http://www.westonplayhouse.org/mainstage2.html

Well - that's what you get for subjecting yourself to a reality series...people are going to read quotes that you made and use them to judge your ability to analyze and embody a character. If she doesn't want people to judge her comment, then she shouldn't have been on a reality show. In fact, let's just stop casting Broadway show's via "reality" (I put this in quotes since they arn't realistic at all) t.v. :)

"I can't believe they used Orfeh, Andy Karl, and Becky? What a waste of talented people. I'm not the biggest fan of Becky, but I want to see her interpretation of Elle duirng the tour. It was nice to see Andy Karl though even through the video haha. " You mean, they didn't work their butts off to get where they are so that they could sing back-up for a girl who won a role on a reality show???
