Don't get me wrong... I LOVED Wicked. Enjoyed it VERY much. BUT, Avenue Q has got it all over Wicked. Subtle, understated, clever, hysterical...

Bigger doesn't always mean better. Minds out of the gutter now...

re: 'Caroline, or Change' at the Tonys

I saw Caroline or Change on Thursday night (prior to the Tony Awards on Sunday) and I was very disappointed. Overall, the show was good (I didn't think it would win) BUT the night I saw Tonia Pinkins whe was awful. She, basically, cracked notes on EVERY song she sang and I was sitting there wondering what the heck was WRONG! I expected to see a performance that would blow me away but I was not impressed. After Lot's Wife, I was REALLY disappointed. She messed it up completely (although her

Let the speculation and rumors about cast of the Rent movie begin!

The Chicago Sun-Times reports that pop star Justin Timberlake is interested in starring the screen version of the Tony Award-winning musical by the late Jonathan Larson.

Chris Columbus ("Home Alone" and the first two "Harry Potter" movies) is set to write and direct.

"There is a role for a pop star who can really sing, and Justin is dying to do it," Columbus told the Sun-Times' Gl

A Little Night Music is my least favorite, followed by Sunday in the Park With George (but I LOVE Bernadette so....)

I can't believe that some people picked Follies as their least favorite. I think it's amazing! But then again, I also like Merrily We Roll Along so go figure.

I just saw Assasins and I thought the music was pretty good. My favorite (even though that's not the topic here) is Into the Woods.

GREAT small musical! Very clever. I love the part in the middle when their stories "meet" and then go off in opposite directions again. Sheri Rene Scott was, by far, the best Princess in Aida and was just as good in TL5Y! I also liked her in Debbie Does Dallas. She was very funny!
re: Musicals you wish were on CD

I have it on DVD but I wish it was on CD: Putting it Together 2001 (with Carol Burnett, George Hearn, Ruthie Henshall, Bronson Pinchot, and John Barrowman). Not to mention, I'd love to have a recording of Tick..Tick..BOOM! with Joey McIntyre instead of Raul Esparza. He was so much better!

I WISH I would've seen Jennifer Holliday in Dreamgirls perform "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going". I saw the Tony Award performance and I can only imagine how AMAZING that would've been live!
