Everyone should try a little experiment. turn you phone off before you walk into the theatre. don't touch it for a whole 90mins (if you're seeing Speed the Plow) to 3 hours. Pretend you live in a world where cell phones don't exist. you can't call your friends, can't text your mom, can't use it to take pictures. How about just sitting back and letting the actors do the job that they love without having to deal with ringtones, flashes and noisy candy wrappers.

Brooke Shields wasn't very good. Just not the role for her. She looked more like a dancer in La Cage. Gina Gershon was daring and exciting to watch. Liked Michael Hall best of all as the Emcee. This was before Six Ft Under so it wasn't exactly stunt casting. Carole Shelley was fine but Mariette Hartley was my favorite. Dignified and heartbreaking. Dick Latessa was a touching Herr Schultz. i thought the curtain call was very awkward. MLP looked like she wanted to run off the stage. Group bow. MLP solo bow - to very nice applause btw - another group bow then they all dashed backstage.

I liked Cerveris who I'm not a huge fan of. On the fence about MaryLouise. The rest of the cast is not very good. And I'm being kind.

I agree that Martha Plimpton deserves a tony for this. As far as long overdue goes, didn't she win for 'Coast of Utopia' or am i dreaming?

I wouldn't be surprised if they paid Becky to sit the Greenville run out and put Bailey in. Think of all the 'local girl makes good' publicity the tour would get.
