I really liked the Bette Midler Gypsy. So much more than Rosalind Russell.

Also, I know it's less specific, but how about films that he wrote major numbers for like The Birdcage and Dick Tracy?

I was there! And I had no idea they were going to do one, either, so it was incredible because Sondheim showed up, which none of the audience seemed to expect. They took a few questions from the audience and discussed how the show was about noncomformity, how orchestrations get put together, and how each of the leads got involved with the project.

A patient was hospitalized for what appeared to be mercury poisoning and his excuse was "I've been eating a lot of sushi lately."

The doctor's response? "And you've been getting lukewarm reviews in Speed-The-Plow on Broadway?" When the others looked perplexed, the doc tells them to Google it.

I love the idea that characters and personalities can be conveyed through signature instruments and themes. This show is a sentimental favorite of mine, so I am hoping that it does well enough to possibly make a transfer. (Pretty please?)
