Audra McDonald-led GYPSY for 2024-2025 Season!

I mean, Merrily sold incredibly well and I think just as many people know Groff as know Audra. Company sold with the biggest name being Lupone. Nowadays, on Broadway do you have to have a massive star to be successful, is good interpretation and good material not enough anymore for a show. (I'm not saying you all don't value these thi

Little Shop...Who Leads? Anyone know?

This show has around 1,400+ performances til now. I know the original production lasted 2,209 performances.

How many Off-Broadway productions of musicals ran as much as those two? Like, over 1,000 performances. I love those stats, but can't find much on the internet about Off-Broadway shows.

Good point. The important thing to me is the number of shows, over 1400 is impressive especially since so many recent winners don't make 1,000.

Just my 2cents because I really followed this race, but while last year was amazing, this year was ok for me. Not really different aside from the fact that DeBose (whom I love) was really lackuster. The camera work could be better, but most shows simply didn't have great numbers.

I think even with papers, most speeches were absolutely PERFECT. Groff, Young, Branden and many others.

Danya was the only shook of the night for me (I got really good winner predictions), and someh

Next time I'll be in NYC, Eddie will be long gone from this production, as I wanna see the show, I hope the replacement is really great.

If they go through the West End routine with supporting actors from TV Shows, they won't last.

But again, they probably won't because the reception in NY was not the same as was in London.

I love that Kelli has a Tony, but the fact that her two most amazing and nuanced performances were for shot-run/flops is so sad, she should be a two time Tony winner for two incredible difficult roles.

Question: how many times a show won Book AND Score but lost Musical against a show that was also eligible in three categories?

I remember Into the Woods, Ragtime and Millie, and now Suffs. Did we had any other show that also did that?

I think ''The Outsiders'' is the first winner in the century not to win, score, book or an acting award.

The fact that Eddie Redmayne is not even the runner-up for Actor makes me wonder if ''Cabaret'' really takes anything other than ''Scenic Design''?

I will say that if the fight is between ''Hell's Kitchen'' e ''The Outsiders'', Alicia Keys may be a Tony winner by sunday night.

Also, I kinda wanna to bet on Kelli!

Feel confident on Strong too!

Menzel-led REDWOOD to transfer to Broadway this season

Scherzinger, McDonald, Simard, Hilty, Foster, Brayben, Shen... now Menzel?

And possibly Peters, Salonga... maybe Chenoweth?

Oh, 2025 Tony's for Best Actress in a Musical will be INSANE!

I feel like a Rudd or a Ruffalo could score here.

Here's the thing about Herbie. It's the perfect role for someone who hasn't been on stage in a while or ever. Also perfect for someone who has always wanted to do a musical but may be not be fully confident in their voice. And, based on past precedent,

The 77th Annual Tony Award Nominations for 2024

Regarding musicals I think ''Cabaret'' takes Scenic and Costumes, ''Hell's Kitchen'' takes Sound, ''Illinoise'' takes Choreo and Orchestrations (or maybe Merrily?) and ''Lightning'

I sincerely believe it's the first time that 4 shows have a chance to win the award when we are on the week of the ceremony.

Yes? I think Outsiders has running out of gas, and Illinoise was never a factor.

I'm REALLY rooting for ''Suffs''!

Audra McDonald-led GYPSY for 2024-2025 Season!

They are selling through June and I believe it's the timeline for the production. Opening mid-december is a sure thing they will try to get the Tony dates and wrap almost after that. If it's selling really well, the can think of casting someone else, but doesn't seems like.

Not saying she will be selling out the Majestic, but her last two efforts were plays that she didn't sing.

This is Audra doing Gypsy, if it's good, it will be a hit, I think.

Feels right that Audra McDonald will become the most nominated performer at the Tonys doing the most important role of musical theater!
