Phantom Tour Technical Rider
 Nov 15 2015, 04:06:53 PM

Hey Guys...

Does anyone have the technical rider for the original Phantom tour? It is my understanding that this tour required modifications to many of the theaters and set precedent for all fore stage rigging points for subsequent shows such as Wicked. It be interesting to see minimum stage requirements.

Cheers,

 Sep 27 2015, 01:14:58 PM

Looks like The Center was sold to a church. A news artical stated that the theatre failed to bring in many tours.

Lion King and Phantom have played the slightly larger Princess of Wales Theatre in Toronto (2008 seats).

In the states it looks like a runner up to the Capital Theatre is Thrivent Financial Hall at the Fox City Performing Arts Center in Appelton Wisconsin. They have 1964 seats without pit seating and have played host t

The Phantom of the Opera, Lion King, and Wicked tours have been around for some time... I was wondering what the smallest house size (by seat count) the tree have played so far.

I have done some searching and it looks like the Capital Theatre in Salt Lake City is in the running for the smallest at 1876 seats.

According to the tech specs posted... the closet seat to the curtain line is 24 feet away! At other venues given 32 inch seat rows... with most aprons between 3-4 feet and a pit 6ft 6in from the apron, thats the equivalent of 5 rows of seating difference between "normal" size houses not even the Gershwin has that large of an apron or a pit.

Dose anyone have images of the Majestic Proscenium prior to Phantom?

Wow... the Majestic has one of the deepest apron on Broadway! Also, a 12 foot deep orchestra pit? So looking at the attached image, it can be assumed that pit filler is used... How many rows? Also, can we assume that the draped chandler is downstage of the house curtain?

How about for the Majestic?
