The New Broadway Merchandise Trade Thread

Could you answer these quick questions please if you don't have collection photos?

first experience with theater, the first show you saw, where the first show you saw was, how much you typically spend for a day at the theater, do you buy merchandise?, do you stay overnight in nyc if you see a Broadway show? do you go out to dinner as well? how many times a year do you go to the theater?

Hello! I'm Lauren, and I'm currently working on a project for my theater blog highlighting theater fans and their collections.

I would really love it if anyone could send me some pictures of you with your collection, a room where you keep your merchandise, etc. and just let me know some stuff about when you started the collection, how many items you have, why you collect, how much money you've spent, how you trade, etc.

Once I gather a bunch of people's photos and stories I'l

Prioritizing Theatre History

For my Theatre History class final paper, we're being asked to basically discuss how theatre historians choose which plays are "important" and should be studied.

Some questions that have been brought up are- should we study the plays that sold the most tickets? should things like vaudeville and minstrel shows be covered in theatre history? Should all theatre be didactic? Or is it more important for it to be entertaining?

I think all of this is really interesting, and was wond

Hey, I was just wondering if anyone's tried this, and what their success rate was.

I was also wondering, if you win but then change your mind and don't want the tickets- can you just not show up to claim them without getting charged or anything?

Thanks!

Sorry, this may be a dumb question- but are audience members who go up onstage for "let the sunshine in" allowed to bring cameras and take pictures while they're onstage/is it easy to get away with?

I saw an album online of someone who took tons of pictures during it, and I was just wondering as I'll be seeing it for the first time on Wednesday! So excited :)

Hey, just wondering how the lotto has been recently. I'm thinking of going this Sunday for the matinee- how are my chances? Also, any shows that are easy to go and get a rush ticket around an hour before the show if I lose lotto? Thanks :)

Okay, second time I'm bringing this thread back from the dead!

With it being the Holiday Season and Hairspray closing in about 2 weeks- has the lotto been crazy?

Which is better in your opinion?

Also, has anyone had the "limited view seating" at Stomp? How is it?

Thanks!

Off-Broadway Musicals Worth Seeing
 Dec 15 2008, 08:21:08 PM
Any suggestions?
I'm desperate to see something, but don't have enough money to see anything new, and I've seen all the old stuff/it's closing. Pretty depressing situation. So I figured I'd see if there's anything off broadway that people think is worth checking out!

Thanks :)

re: What is your LEAST favorite musical ever?

If High School Musical counts- then High School Musical.
I hate Grease too.

this thread is SO [title of show] & [more than 9 [tos]sers' favorite thing]

Ah, I've been waiting for this :] I'm ordering my tickets as soon as I get home from school!

I'm contemplating going the day after Opening Night of the first night of previews- since the discount code doesn't work for Opening! =/ Idk which to buy tickets to!

My GUESS would be that Jesse will go on until Kyle starts!
re: Would you pay full price for [tos] on Broadway?
 Apr 7 2008, 07:55:30 AM
This question kind of confuses me. If I had the option to get tickets to [tos] on a discount, I wouldn't pass them down in order to buy full price tickets. I don't think anyone would do that. But if there were no cheaper tickets available, then I would certainly buy them at full price.
