They said it was all the casts doing.... Dec 10

Thanks I was going to do that but when I went to the box office to ask about it they said the theater had nothing to do with it—that the cast was doing Broadway cares... And the end of the show LMK announces that they have ornaments and posters for donations for Bway Cares... I had to wait in the lobby for an hour until the end of the performance when they came out bc the ppl working at the theater said they had nothing to do with it... Do you think I could just drop a

“Manager” associated w/Broadway Cares at King and I Tour? Dec 10
2017, 11:03:20 AM
We just saw The King and I in St. Louis and One of the Broadway Care people who come out after the show went out of her way for us—she was trying to help us get a signed poster for my niece when I believed they’d run out. She said she was the “manager” but I know there are several different managers involved with the show. She had short dark hair. I just wanted to tweet or post her a “thank you”.... Does anyone have any idea who that might be? Or where I could look to fi

I agree with the poster who mentioned Laura Michelle Kelley--I know she had Julie's blessing when she created the role on stage--her voice is very similar to Julie's, I know it's likely out of the realm of possibility but I'd love to see that.

Jeffrey Karasarides said: "^Though she was still turned down for the film adaptation of My Fair Lady. " This was my point. Her many "TV credits" at that point were mostly for her appearances on talk shows/late shows as a Broadway performer--her performance in Cinderella and with Carol Burnett were both "bringing Broadway to the masses" type events. Its widely known that she was passed over for My Fair Lady despite hav

What are the rumors for casting w/re to the leading roll? I would think that the success or failure of this film will rely heavily on that choice and whether the actress chosen to portray Mary Poppins is able to bring the sort of magic to the part that Julie Andrews brought to the original. Bc its one thing to recreate the original, with many of the same songs/for more or less the same story multiple generations have now grown up with on stage.

See this clip of Laura Michelle Kelly doing
"Shall we Dance" from a production of The King and I recently and I think she would give a much younger Kelli Ohara type performance. Her voice would be perfect!

"^^^Missing Laura Michelle Kelly in the Theatrical Casting."
I saw a production of My Fair Lady at The Muny this summer, a venue where Laura Michelle Kelly has performed recently in king and as well as South Pacific--
I had thought she would have been PERFECT for the role

The New Yorker explains the neurological reasons for the SOM snark Dec 11

"I work in television (both creative and production). It's frustrating to be part of an industry that shies away from genuine, live classic theatre but glorifies such drivel as GLEE. I commend a major network for taking a leap of faith. It paid off, solely based on the ratings." I would be much more inclined to commend the network if they'd had the balls to cast an actress actually capable of handling "live classic theatre" because IMO what they chose to do is more likely to damage the

Okay if you say so, I guess I've just been a little skeptical after hearing the very Glee-ish kind of auto-tuned quality of the Do Re Mi number in the promo...

Is it going to be live as in the Les Mis cast was "singing live" in the film--or is it really going to be completely live, as in no mixing, no effects, no tracks, no add-ons, no prerecorded b-flat at the end of Do Re Mi a la' Phantom of the Opera?
